I was a patient of Dr. Pasin, but I decided for a safer biopsy option that he does not offer. Find a doctor that has been trained on transperineal and avoid transrectal that can cause serious infections. Also get an (multiparmetric) mpMRI without contrast first!
From the first meeting with Dr. Pasin I felt he genuinely wanted to do everything possible to cure my prostate issues, it was obvious to me that he truly cared about my well being first and foremost. He took his time in his diagnosis and explaining my options and answering of all my questions. I feel lucky to have a specialist like Dr. Pasin in my court, he cured my long time prostate / bladder issues which has been a real life changer! I've referred Dr. Pasin to family and friends and would recommend him to anyone needing a Urology Specialist!
Dr. Erik Pasin is a great doctor, knowledgeable, sensitive and informative. Using the latest in medical technology the Alma Duo treatment which is available in his office, he was able to treat and correct my health issue. The results of that treatment were excellent. Thank you very much Dr Pasin and your incredible staff.
Dr. Erik Pasin recently performed a radical prostatectomy surgery on me. The surgery was a complete success with resulting PSA levels near zero, and I have maintained my sexual function. We have been monitoring my PSA levels through a process called Active Surveillance, and the PSA level started to rise after a long time of being static. Between rising PSA levels and a Gleason Score of 7, we decided surgery would be the best path forward. Dr. Pasin recommended the surgery at Saddleback Hospital where the OR nurses and facilities were top notch. Dr. Pasin is a warm and caring physician and has always made me feel very well cared for. He takes the time to explain the issues and he has answered all of my questions to my utmost satisfaction. The office staff is very respectful and led is by Paula, who keeps flow of patients, and office moving forward with outstanding results. The office staff is friendly and they work in a very clean organized system. Bottom line, the most important thing you want when you are in need of urologic support, is a skilled and experienced physician like Dr. Pasin.
Went in to see DR. Eric Parin. Everything was going o.k. until the day of my surgery. had my prostate removed due to cancer issues thinking that was the right thing to do. I got out of the hospital and to this day I have leakage issues and have to where a diapers and a heavy pad. when back to see him and they ran test on me. this makes it very hard to travel the country. never heard from Dr. Pasin or his office staff again. My advice is to stay away!
Great experience, Good staff, excellent doctor, caring, easy manner, and knowledgeable.
Dr. Pasin did my radical prostatectomy with the robot assist for the surgery and did an absolute perfect job. When i say it was perfect i mean i am PSA undetectable after the 3 month check up and i am 100% fully functional, i am sure you know what i mean by this. He is a Great Dr. and he does a thorough job and will give his personal opinion when it comes to alternatives and if they should be done. Only suggestion, if you are seeing a pain specialist for chronic pain have Dr. Pasin call your pain specialist so he will know what he can give you after the surgery for the pain. Great job Doc!!
After having my PSA "rocket" up I searched for a Urologist to perform more tests to verify what was going on (had no other symptoms to indicate what was going on). Dr. Pasin had me go through a special blood test, which then led to an MRI and finally a biopsy. When the results showed prostate cancer he asked me what I wanted to do and detailed all of my options - going through the upsides and downsides of each procedure. I finally decided on robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. The procedure and hospital went EXACTLY as he outlined. I was a surgical "virgin" and scared out of my mind, but experienced no real pain and everything went as he described. I'm now three months post surgery and have had two blood test which resulted in "no detectable PSA measurement." I highly recommend Dr. Pasin; he will ensure that you get all the information to make an informed decision and leave no stone unturned to help you!
He’s been my urologist for about 5 years while I elected to take an “active surveillance” approach to what was then my low risk prostate cancer. But when my last biopsy showed that my cancer had progressed beyond what was safe for active surveillance he told me “If you were my friend, brother or father I would tell you get this treated soon with surgery or radiation”. We talked at length about the pluses and minuses of each approach and I decided to take the surgical approach with a robot assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. As a pharmacist I read every book, study and review paper I could find about this surgery, and understood the two most common adverse effects of this surgery were urinary incontinence and the loss of sexual potency, and that the risk of both could be minimized if this surgery was performed by a highly skilled, experienced surgeon. And that defines Dr. Pasin. He told me he would try to minimize urinary incontinence by leaving as much of my urethral sphincter muscle as possible. And that he’d try to minimize loss of sexual functioning by carefully dissecting off my prostate gland the fine meshwork of nerves leaving them intact to allow for normal erections. This “nerve sparing” dissection must be done very slowly and gently to avoid injury or trauma to these nerves. After 2 weeks post-op of living with an indwelling catheter (not fun!) it was removed and I was told I would need to wear a pad for 1 to 3 months while my urine control came back. Thankfully after a few days my urine control came back and I’ve just had minor leakage at night while I slept. I’ve been virtually pad free after 1 month post op. Everything I read said that sexual function after a nerve sparing operation would return in 6 to 12 months. Amazingly, my function returned after 6 weeks! As a healthy, vigorous 66 y.o. man I am forever grateful to Dr. Pasin and his staff helping me through this difficult situation, minimizing adverse effects and hopefully curing me of prostate cancer. I would recommend that any man in this situation should make an appointment to talk with Dr Erik Pasin to determine if he could help you as he did for me and my family.
I guess I was LUCKY to find a GREAT Doctor and A GREAT PERSON (a human being) an individual who knows his science and knows how to make you welcome to his office. Always with a smile and with his positive but logical approach to your questions. I want to also underline his nurses sweet professional and with a smile. NOT ROBOTS thank God! NE
Dr. Pasins is by far the best urologist I have ever seen . I have a PhD and have worked with many physicians. He’s brilliant, kind, and has a great sense of humor. Great follow through and has a memory like no other. Is extremely personable, can’t recommend him enough .
Not only is Dr. Pasin very confidentally knowledge and professional, he is kind and caring. In this day of quickness and methodical healthcare, it was so very comforting at the time of my recent care and diagnosis. They are a very busy office with a very busy office staff and back office; however, that did not stop them from getting the job done and making sure everything was in order. I want to specifically think Cecelia, polo, Brianna and Joyce for getting me through this anxious and uncertain time of my life in a very kind and professional manner also. I have the upmost respect and trust for Dr. Pasin and his staff. Thank you all.
Great front office-appointments on time-thorough exam and addresses problem. Good bedside manner
I am so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Erik Pasin. He examined me and explained that I needed a biopsy after the results came back that I had very high risk prostate cancer he the sent me for several tests to determine if the cancer had metastasized. Once again he explained everything in detail and then plann d treatment plan for me. All during this process he was caring compassionate and kept reinforcing the positive. I am very thankful for doctor Pasin and his staff. I could not ask or find any better care. Thank you very much. I am pretty sure you saved my life.
Went to Dr Pasin for 2nd opinion. Found him to be good listener and knowledgeable about my urology issues. I wanted a Hoag affiliated Dr so chose someone else. But I would go back if needed.
I can't express how thankful that I am for having Dr. Pasin as my Urologist. He was and is very compassionate and caring for my welfare. I had to have my left kidney removed and Dr. pasin was able to remove all cancerous lymth nodes. My Nephrologist said that Dr. pasin saved my life. I'll beforever grateful to him.
Upon meeting Dr. Pasin I immediately liked him, and felt at ease. He is very friendly, and not intimidating. He was very patient, and spent plenty of time answering all of the concerns my wife and I have had. We were referred to him by our Internist when a routine bloodtest revealed an elevated PSA. It turned out to be a small amount of unaggressive cancer. Following Dr. Pasin's advice we monitored it for 16 months. When it suddenly showed advancement, we agreed with Dr. Pasin to move quickly. I'm now a little over 2 weeks post surgery, and could not be happier with the results, kindness, and guidance of Dr. Pasin and his staff. I have the utmost confidence in him, and fortunately, he moved so quickly on this that my Pathology report has shown clear of cancer. I am sure he has saved me from much grief, and ensured this excellent prognosis. I feel very fortunate to have him as my Urologist.
Exceptional doctor. Had prostrate surgery on 2013 with Dr. Pasin. Excellent results, great recovery.
Dr Pasin was knowledgeable and compassionate. He knew how to treat me and bring me back to health. A terrific Doctor!
He's a great doctor with a lousy office staff. They don't follow up on issues, don't return phone calls. If you need anything beyond an office visit involving the staff, you are in for trouble. This is the worst medical office I have ever dealt with.
