Dr. Evan Scott Shikora, DO, DO

I see a lot of positive reviews so maybe my case is unusual but I had a terrible labor and delivery with Evan. I ended up having PTSD afterward, Even though I had a wonderful pregnancy. I had a long labor and difficulty pushing. I ended up with an emergency C-Section and later was told the baby was face up and about 9lbs, making him difficult to deliver. I also never felt reassured that things were going well. I had the best experience after changing doctors and having my daughter a few years later.

This doctor made me feel like a complete idiot. He was quick and careless, ignored my questions and concerns. I have to go elsewhere with a complicated condition. Avoid him if you want to have a thorough care.

Dr. Shikora is how a doctor used to be. He takes time with you, explains this thoroughly and never makes you feel rushed or that your concerns are unimportant. He knows his stuff medically. His bedside manner is awesome. I have recommended him to a lot of women. He is the best doctor I have ever gone to.

At my first visit Dr. Shikora commented on how large my feet were. I laughed it off, but I should have taken it to be a red flag. At the second visit he was extremely rude to me after he found out I was a teacher; apparently he has some issues with people in my profession. My annual internal exam was painful because of his less than gentle technique which seemed to be intentional on his part. I never returned to him after that. I am now seeing a wonderful OBGYN.

When Dr. Alonzo left the practice, I was devastated. A friend referred me to Dr. Shikora. I have since referred several family members and friends to him. He makes every visit pleasant and I always feel that he spends quality time with me. Now that I am expecting my first child, my fears and anxiety are less knowing that he will be with me through my pregnancy.

Very personable and caring doctor that I actually enjoy visiting.

When Dr Alonzo left I wasnt sure that I would ever be comfortable again with an OBGYN then I met Dr Shikora who took over the practice. His bedside manner is just amazing, I recently had a leep procedure and he put me at ease. I highly recommend him to one and all. Just to prove I truly think Dr Shikora is amazing I travel almost an hour and 45mins to see him.

Dr. Shikora is one of the best Doctors I have met, period. His, friendly, conversational manner both answers your questions, and alleviates any concerns for both mother and dad. Very professional, very knowledgeable, top grades all around. I enthusiastically endorse him.

Now that I have seen Dr Shikora, I refuse to see any other OB/GYN. His bedside manner is wonderful and I appreciate his candid answers when I ask a question. He is the first OB/GYN I have seen that I feel comfortable asking the questions that aren't always comfortable to answer. I was disappointed that he wasn't on call when my son was born, but I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Shikora was an on-call OB at Magee when my wife delivered our first child. We never met him before. My wife was nervous as could be. She and I both felt very comfortable with the Dr once we met him. His bedside manor was really down to earth and very professional at the same time. I'm a respiratory therapist and I appreciate all of the professionalism experienced with this Dr and magee hospital.
