Friendly receptionist, not a long wait to see Dr. Vapnek. Nurse Martha was very professional at her job. Dr. Vapnek was to the point that blood lab work was necessary for continued evaluation. Dr. Vapnek was very likable and pleasant to talk to.

Very rude and dismissive. Acted annoyed when I asked essential questions about an urgent matter. I’m not surprised he has some of the worst reviews out of all urologists I’ve researched in the Sharp San Diego network. He didn’t help resolve my issue whatsoever and acted like I was annoying him when asking just a couple critical questions.

I knew Dr. Vapnek had problems when I first saw him, but I needed a second opinion and was not getting the answers I needed from another doctor. I found him competent and explained what prostate surgery I needed. I am grateful to him and the office staff and would reccomend him to new patients.

I was blessed to have Dr, Vapnek see me during my stay at Sharp Memorial for kidney failure.

Dr. E Vapnek did the transplant on my husband we have no complaints about his work. He actually save my husband from going through a biopsy that could have cause later damage to him. He is a good doctor but we all must remember his has a degree but not in the business for miracles. He is here to do his job and not to make friends.

I had a very complicated partial nephrectomy and it was a success. It was performed 9 years ago with the robot Da Vinci. The follow up continues and always with good attention from doctor Vapnek and staff.

He's the worst Dr I've ever been to. I'm not sure if he just doesn't like women or is just incompetent. Besides the fact that he mistakenly removed the wrong kidney from a patient(Google it), he seems to have no understanding of the body. I've been a repeat long time UTI sufferer and while I was explaining my symptoms: constant burning pain, fever, sweats, back and body pain, bleeding urethra and extreme nausea. He actually responded "the nausea must be from something else, UTI's never cause nausea". And then just stared at me blankly. I mean every single GP and emergency room doctor seems to know this but a specialist doesn't? After I corrected him he just proceeded to be rude and act like he could care less. How are you supposed to trust a "Dr" that makes you feel like you're an inch tall in his eyes? Sitting there in desperate agonizing pain just shivering and sweating and he just said basically there's no bacteria in my urine so there shouldn't be infection and my nausea is from something else-pretty much treating me like I'm nuts. Trust me, you KNOW when you have a uti. I ended up just taking the antibiotics and anti nausea pills from my GP after calling them crying in pain after this guy pretty much refused to help me or even believe my symptoms. I have been turned off to urologists and stayed away from them for over a year and have suffered 6 more UTIs since (with nausea). I think it's time to stick the camera in there and do more tests to find out the cause because this torture has to end-I thought I was at the end of my rope before when I saw "The Vap". But I will tell you this; you couldn't pay me a million dollars to be in this man's office again.

My husband just had kidney surgery, his recovery is amazing! Dr. Vapnek is an excellent surgeon.

The post beneath mine giving Dr. Vapnek 5 stars is probably one of his friends. Very rude and has completely unjustified ego. A disgrace to the medical profession. His office staff is rude as well.

Very unprofessional, Had a confirmed appointment and he was not there. The receptionist said they called me to let me know he will not be in the office, I showed them all the calls I had in my phone, there was not any. I had to take the rest of the day off and drive 28 miles to get there. He is not some one you want to see, I have a confirmed Kidney stone of 15mm for the past FIVE month and taking pain medication. Some Doctors are there just to suck the money out of patients and especially their insurance company and HE is ONE of THEM, they do not care about the pain a patient goes thru, it is only money.
