Dr. Eve Rittenberg, MD

I only wish there was a half star or zero star rating, as that would be most appropriate. Dr. Rittenberg was my Dad's PCP for several years, then this year when my Dad took ill, I had to call 911 and he was brought to a local hospital close to where he lives. This was was approximately one week after I had brought my Dad to see Dr. Rittenberg and I had told her that I thought he had another UTI as his speech was slightly slurred and that is how he usually presents with a UTI. She blew it off and never even checked his urine. When I finally got him to a local ER he had more that a UTI, he had "urine retention". The care at this local hospital (Norwood Hospital) was horrendous and I called Dr. Rittenberg for her help many times. I was ignored and put off by her and her staff repeatedly. The diagnosis was simply urine retention however the catheter was left in for 19 days and he got worse and then died. Dr. Rittenberg did NOT advocate for my Dad who was his patient, but rather ignored him… and she violated the hippocratic oath. I would never recommend her to anyone. No Dr. should ignore a patient when that patient is so obviously in need of help. Shame on her. Shame on her for not giving him a urine test when he was in her office when he had a history of UTIs and a family history of renal failure.
