Dr. Farook Jalil Kidwai, MD

Many Dr's gave up and told me there was nothing they could do. This left my husband blind and extremely handicapped both mentally and physically. Dr Kidwai never gave up and without Dr Kidwai I can say with certainty that I would be a widow. We have complete confidence in Dr Kidwai and highly recommend using him.

Dr. Kidwai seems to be a competent fine doctor but with out a competent office staff its not worth going there. I recommend he fire his office staff immediately. Thank you

Dr. Kidwai was very respectful when examining patient. He took his time and showed great patience . Exam was very thorough he read files on patient history and discussed with us possible ideas for help. He ordered further testing and will follow up when testing is finished. Very pleasant experience.

wanted a referral from doctor and after four days it was not sent. I am in serious pain and need treatment. No help here and insensitive treatment for a doctor

After my surgery I had questions. He dropped me as a patient and he personally wrote the name, address and phone number to another doctor who was willing to answer my questions. My medical records show he did no rounds to check on me after surgery when I was in I.C.C.U. or I.C.U. After he dropped me as a patient he had the American Stroke Association call me to see if I would do a seminar to boost his rating (EGO) He gave out my personal medical records to 3rd party with out my approval ...

I recently had a large brain tumor removed from deep in my brain. The life-saving surgery was performed at a university hospital several hours from my home. After returning home I had a grand mal seizure and was admitted to Avera St. Lukes's hospital. Dr. Kidwai was the neurology "specialist" that was called in to look at my case. After I explained what I had been through, he went on to tell me that the surgeon who had performed my surgery was- I quote- "careless, and didn't know what he was talking about." His reasoning for this statement was that if the surgery had been properly performed I would have no side affects whatsoever. Yes, of course, after spending 10 hours with my head open, it is perfectly reasonable that I wouldn't even notice a difference. I think not! Furthermore, my doctor had told me before leaving the university that I would continue to have swelling in my head for a short period of time following the surgery(which IS very reasonable considering the trauma my brain… had sustained)and I should sleep sitting in a recliner in order to ease that swelling. Dr. Kidwai's opinion? "There is no reason at all that you should have to change the position you sleep in. In fact you would be safe to sleep on your head if you like." Again, perfectly reasonable, right? After all the only thing that is going to happen is that all the fluid in my body will flow downward (Newton's law of gravity). Allowing that fluid to settle in my head instead of my lower extremities sounds very intelligent! Again, I think not! And to top it off, after insulting me and the surgeon who saved my life, he prescribed me seizure medication for ONE WEEK. The particular medication that he prescribed me is one that cannot be quit "cold turkey." I need to take the medication and be monitored by a neurologist for a minimum of 6 months before being slowly weaned off the medication. So, if you ask me, Dr. Kidwai is the doctor that is foolish and doesn't know what he is talking about. Take my advice: Avoid this doctor and all costs!

Very curt. Difficult to understand. Does not listen and as a result doesn't understand the problem or efficacy of treatment... which is then turned into the fault of patient.
