Why don't doctors keep appointments on schedule? Seems universal. I wait too long when I visit my doctor!

I was looking for a new doctor and found her through my insurance so I decided to give it a try. I called the office, and after being put on hold for 10 minutes, a rude lady finally took my call. I tried to get an appt and found it was difficult to find anything to work with my schedule (which I am very flexible with) and the lady on the phone was not helpful at all. I finally settled with one and when I went in there, I was greeted very rudely and abruptly by the lady in the front (who I can only guess was the one that I was talking on the phone to), and proceeded to wait a good 15 minutes before I was given my paperwork to fill out and then another hour before I saw the doctor. She was nice, but I could tell that she was in a hurry and not interested in what my problems were. Overall not a good experience.
