Dr. Federico Milla, MD

Federico Milla, M.D. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Massachusetts and graduated medical school from St. Georges University in Grenada in 2000. He completed his general surgery residency at The University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in 2007, as well as a cardiac research fellowship at Mount Sinai from 2003-2005. Dr. Milla completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital under the guidance of Dr. David H. Adams. Through his training, he has become versatile in a broad range of cardiac procedures including coronary revascularization, re-operative cardiac surgery, and mitral valve reconstruction. Dr. Millas other major area of interest includes the care of patients with end-stage heart failure requiring mechanical assistance. He is experienced in the implantation of mechanical assist devices and he has also been trained in cardiac transplantation. As part of the multidisciplinary team that makes up the Marcus Heart Valve …Center, Dr. Milla cares for patients with valvular heart disease and specializes in the surgical repair of the mitral valve. The Marcus Heart Valve Center is a comprehensive valve center focused on quality care, research and training. Dr. Milla is a fluent Spanish speaker. He welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
