I went to Stress Care after the loss of my husband at 46 years old. I was a professional and trying to figure out this new life. I was petrified of the future and panic attacks were getting bad. I needed help. Dr. Geller is strictly text. At one appointment I was told I was obsessing over an irreversible situation. Gee, ya think. My life and future were ripped out from under me a few months ago I asked if he ever lost anyone he lived or even a pet. This I was told was being combative. I left feeling like a failure. Next appt. I was told I was past the two month grievance period!! I asked where he got this figure and yes he said the textbook. I was also being combative. On my initial visit I was told by another Dr. To build a shrine...my husband's boots were still at the door and she typed into my notes that I built a shrine! Each time you go bDr. Geller us Kate and there is no familiarity whatsoever. He actually asks your name and reads notes of prior session in front of… you. I also saw therapist there who just switched me to someone new after months of building what i thought was a repore. Dr Geller is dangerous. If you want a roboit and to feel like a failure when you leave because you spoke during session, see him!

Dr. Geller is a young doctor that I was willing to try out because I was desperate and the waiting list for psychiatrists is just unbelievable. I was able to go in and see him relatively quickly after calling to make an appointment. The office, "Stress Care of New Jersey" is a crowded mess where waiting for an hour to see the doctor and searching for a parking spot for an eternity is par for the course. He wouldn't prescribe more than one medication at a time despite the fact that I had been on meds before seeing him and he wanted to see me every two weeks. It was a very uncomfortable situation in an uncomfortable setting. I don't think he listened intently to my concerns and my battle with depression. He seemed eager to get me out the door and bring the next person in. If you're just looking for someone to give you prescriptions, he could be your guy... but don't go to him expecting expert care, compassion, and a pleasant experience.
