Dr. Feremsu Kamara, MD

Every time I go to her office, the staff are endlessly overwhelmed with the number of patients, and they take way too much time to complete simple tasks like printing a record or adding something to your chart. Just be prepared to advocate for yourself and bother the office staff 5 times for every thing you need. During my most recent visit to Dr. Kamara, the nurse asked if I was ok with having a medical student 'sit in' on my appointment, but the student ended up doing the entire exam BY HIMSELF (with no Dr. Kamara in the room). He made me feel very uncomfortable, asked tons of questions, then left. He came back into the room twenty minutes later with Dr. Kamara, who gave me my prescription (with no actual diagnostic information) and rushed out a minute later, giving me no time to ask questions. I get the impression she's too busy and is using medical students to ease her work load. And just as a general observation, when seeing Dr. Kamara, I often am made to feel stupid or like I ask… dumb questions when I've spoken with her. Based on all these reasons, I have since decided to switch doctors.

Dr. Kamara is reasonably knowledgeable, respectful and good with referrals. However, she rushes through the visit like many other doctors. Her office is horribly disorganized--which makes for a challenging experience when you can't get simple problems resolved. Their online patient portal is currently down indefinitely, which further adds to the mess. It should be noted that when the patient portal works, Dr. Kamara prefers phone calls, and if you're like me, you'd much prefer discuss things with her by email.
