Dr. Francis Xavier Tunney, MD

This review is not about care provided but rather how I was treated in the parking lot. When I pulled into the lot to drop off my family member for care, I parked in the first handicapped spot and displayed my handicapped placard on my rear-view mirror. I was the only vehicle in the entire lot for 45 minutes. Two cars, 45 minutes later, came in and parked next to me in the two other handicapped spots. About ten minutes later, a man in a white doctor's coat, came out from the rear of the building, walked up to my vehicle and began examining my vehicle. He went to the rear and then to the front. He then stood at my driver's side window. I put down my window and he proceeded to tell me that these are handicapped spots. He directed me to move my vehicle to the other side of the lot so that the space is available for handicapped people. He didn't explain why he was telling me this. He didn't say if someone mistakenly told them I was in a spot when I shouldn't be in. He didn't say… anything as to why he came out to address me. I pulled my handicapped placard off my mirror and held it up to him. He never apologized nor did he explain how it came to be that he needed to address me, He just walked back in the building. It would have been nice if he said "I am so very sorry sir. Please have a wonderful day."

Dr. Tunney was positive and gave me the best advice and expert medical opinion

I have switched our family care to Doctor's Care. There is very little wait and the staff is awesome. Our doctors visit have always been great. The entire faculty is clean and smells pleasant. The cold bottle water is a nice perk. Fastest medical service we have ever had. Thanks so much to the staff for the follow up calls to ensure that we are feeling better after our visits. I highly recommend this faculty to locals and tourist alike.

Dr. Tunney threw me out, literally, because I had my Service Dog with me. I had to call the police to go back in and retrieve my drivers license and medicare card. He was threatening and I felt humilated. He seriously needs ADA education and being a decent human being.

I have seen Dr. Tunney ever since he opened his clinic in North Charleston. I lovingly would call him Marcus Welby M.D. because he is very caring. He has helped to save my life numerous times. I highly recommend Dr. Tunney because of his repore with the patient and because of his expertise, as their is no substitute for experience. He is a great physician for you and your family!

I have always had a fear of Doctors. I have no idea why but I had somehow avoided them for many years until one time I had to see one and ended up at Dr. Tunney's practice. This was nearly 2 years ago (maybe more) and no longer am I fearful of seeing a Doctor. Dr. Tunney listens to me. He is truly concerned about my concerns and never lessens them. His staff is wonderful and they are very accommodating. Highly recommended!

I love Dr.Tunney.But the staff up front get really rude.They make me want to turn around and go back home.Especially one that I think her name was Heather.When Patient one was first opened I loved the girls up front.They welcomed you with a smile.NOW though the new girls act like you are a bother just coming in.Now ,the people in the back are very friendly and welcoming.I have recommended alot of people to go to patient one.But now when I recommend P.O.,I tell them to not let the girls up front upset them,because the Drs. and staff in back make up for them ,with their friendlyness and professionalism.I tell my friends not to go to Doctors care or healthfirst - That Patient one is the best!Dr.Jones is also very nice!P.S.Before Patient one opened ,I went to DOCTORS CARE for really bad stomach cramps.They did xray ,ultrasound and etc..said they didnt see anything and sent me home-over a year later still having cramping,but was being seen for something else,the Dr. asked what happened… about my tumor-my heart dropped to my feet-no one from that office ever called or notified me about anything about a tumor.I ended up having a total hysterectomy because of that.I could never imagine patient one ever not telling a patient about a tumor.I have similar stories about health first.My brother-in-law was turning yellow and his stomach and chest was hurting.He also had a itchy rash.They blew it off and said it was an allergy.He ended up in emergency surgery,he had a huge tumor-the Drs.removed part of his stomach,pancreas,intestines and liver.That is just part of the horror stories about heath first.So I tell everyone I know to skip those places and go to Patient one!That they are the best!
