Terrible person, said I wasn’t worth saving, said I had no autism (I have moderate autism)

Terrible with children, horrible with people in general. Rude, impatient, condescending, does not reassure the child or the parent, has no business as a physician. There is no compassion or understanding, he has no concept of how to relate to anyone, it’s as if he feels he’s better than everyone else that his time is too valuable that he’s doing everyone else a favor. He has no empathy and uphold the oath at all. He shouldn’t be practicing medicine at all.

I went to his office for my son. He answer all my questions with short answers. The wait time to see him so to long. 30 mins. For some reason he was in a rush to leave. He never asked any question to see how my son improved & what we do to make it better. My son has Autism, these things he needs to know so he could tell me things I should do to improve my son. The last time I saw him for my son was 1 year ago. I'm stuck were I was a year ago. No answer from him. I will never see him again. I couldn't stop crying leaving his office because as soon as I asked about getting my son test for lead and other toxics that might be in his body. He told me see my son doctor and said by. Them walked out of the room.

My son saw Dr. Aiello for 2 years. He was attentive, polite, caring and made a quick and accurate diagnosis. We have always been pleased. However, it takes over 6 months to get an appointment. My son needs help in school and this year the school requires us to go through the process of diagnois again. But, Dr. Aiello can not see us until late February. That is too late. We will need to find a new doctor even though we prefer this one. My son's education is too important to wait till the school year is half over.

Dr. Aiello is the worst doctor we have seen (that's saying something as our insurance isn't great and we've seen quite a few awful doctors). He was rude and dismissive in front of our young son and refused to give referrals for tests that are standard for our son's diagnosis and symptoms (confirmed this with 2 other doctors). He seriously delayed our son getting help because we had to wait 6 months for the appointment and then had to start over from square 1 because he would not give any constructive opinion as to the medications and treatments our child was currently receiving or provide any referrals for tests that we need in order to get our child the right medical, psychological, and behavioral interventions. It has also seriously delayed us from getting the proper help in school which means my son will struggle for another 6 months while we try to get appointments - so the school will provide the help he needs. Dr. Aiello was dismissive of all of our concerns and acted like we… were idiots for following the advice of our son's psychiatrist, pediatrician, and occupational therapists. There was literally no point to the appointment it was a waste of time and money and losing 6 months in a young child's treatment is very damaging.He acted like we were ridiculous for giving our child Omega 3 supplements (recommended by 3 different doctors), dismissed all of our concerns about his eating and sleeping problems and was very rude about it in front of our son. I have never met anyone as condescending and dismissive. He seems to be stuck in the 60's and blames parents for Autism and does not believe in most of the interventions that have worked for our son.He dismissed the Sensory issues that are a serious problem for our son - he seems to think it just means the child is being difficult (a child who has negative reactions to sensory input even in his sleep).He is rigid, does not address your concerns, does not deliver even minimal standards of care, and doesn't seem to be anywhere near up to date on current testing and research. It seems like he bases his opinion on what he learned in Medical school 20 years ago and I'm seriously doubting his participation in continuing medical education.It is worth it to drive as far as you need to go to get a decent doctor - waiting for an appointment with Dr. Aiello will do more harm than good.

I guess it depends on what day! Just a thought... perhaps behavior and/or Autism stems from something nuerological!! WOW, Just like God you know it really does exist!!Maybe he should just stick to mental illness and blaming the children and mothers, or only seeing male patients, but deffinately not see autistic children and their families!!! Thank You God for Johns Hopkins, the dedicated Doctors, all of their hard work and research!!!!!!!!

Dr. Aeillo spent well over an hour and a half with my son and myself on our initial visit. Being new to the area, he pointed us to various community resources. He gave me, the mom, a list of homework items to bring in for today's visit: List of supplements our son is taking, a new psychological (if possible), original report with main diagnosis. I felt that Dr. Aeillo has our son's best interest at heart. Thanks, Dr. Aeillo!!!!

At our first meeting with Dr. Aiello for my toddler's develeopmental delays due to neuro disorder, he spent a significant amount of time yelling at me, pontificating emotionally and with sarcasm, in response to my inquiry into nutritional interventions to enhance traditional therapy. Underscoring this frightful conversation was his belief, as he described, many parents of autistic kids (our child is not autistic)are wasting their money on treatments for recovery when they're just not admitting that their children are simply mentally retarded. His delivery was horrible, his tone arrogant and egotistical. We were clearly just another part of the herd for him. Most importantly, after agreeing to give my daughter an EEG and then seeing the results, his office phoned me to advise me that the EEG was abnormal and that I was referred for a follow-up which they booked for me for a month later. Turns out the follow-up was with a Physician's Assistant! Johns Hopkins saw the results of this same… EEG. That doc (Dr. Zimmerman)called me at my home in the evening, explained the results to me, and adamantly recommended that my child see a Neurologist urgently. He also followed up the next day to make sure I would be seen within the next couple days and asked if he need to intervene. I'm scared to death the we were almost in the hands of Dr. Aiello -- we're so grateful to have accidentally found out early the harm that he could have caused our child.
