Dr. Frank Feigenbaum, MD

I recently visited Dr. Feigenbaum’s office to rule out the possibility of a Tarlov cyst. The front desk staff and medical assistants were warm, friendly, and very welcoming, and I truly appreciated their professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Feigenbaum himself was extremely disappointing. I came in hoping to get clarity on my symptoms and rule out a potential diagnosis, but he seemed irritated that I was there without imaging that already confirmed a cyst. He was dismissive throughout the appointment, did not show much interest in the pelvic or pudendal aspects of my symptoms, and made it clear that he only works with patients who already have definitive imaging showing a cyst. His attitude felt rude, unhelpful, and unnecessarily condescending. While I’m relieved to know that a Tarlov cyst has been ruled out based on my previous MRI results, the overall visit left me feeling unheard and dismissed. I would not recommend this specialist unless a patient already has… clear imaging evidence of a Tarlov cyst. The office staff was wonderful, but the physician interaction was unfortunately very negative.

He let you believe in good result after surgery, but you get werther after and he dont respond or care about you anymore, it is metter of making money ....

I am so grateful for Dr. F. He is the expert in dealing with how to deal with TC's. I had 6 cyst. All were compressing nerves and my symptoms were getting worse by the week until I had surgery. When I found out I had these on an MRI I read as much as I could about them and realized most drs don't know how to treat these and/or say they don't cause symptoms. I skipped going to local doctors and started the process of becoming a patient of Dr. F. It was a process mainly because of insurance delaying approval. I am so grateful to say that a week after surgery all of my right leg & him pain, weakness, ache and heaviness was gone. The other symptoms I was having are showing great improvement every week. Dr. F gave me my life back. I am almost 4 weeks out from surgery and I recommend Dr F as your first contact if you find that you have TC's. He is honest, kind and explains very well what he sees on the MRI and what he will do during surgery. He has zero control over the condition… of your nerves. If they have been compressed for a long time your healing is going to be different than someone who have not been compressed as long. . So healing will just take time to know what will improve. He does what he does to relieve pressure off the nerves. The rest is a wait and see. I am so grateful for this surgeon.

Feigenbaum performed surgery on me over 2 years ago to remove 7 tarlov cysts in my sacrum. Before the surgery, I was a fully functioning person. I drove , I shopped, I traveled. I just couldn't sit comfortably for more than 15 minutes. This surgery was the biggest MISTAKE of my entire life. Since the surgery I have been in VERY SEVERE, nonstop pain. Now I cannot sit AT ALL even for one minute because of the extreme pain. I have chronic nerve damage now. I cannot stand for more than 15 to 30 minutes at the most. I can't walk further than 1-2 blocks. I can't eat a meal with my family. I can't go to the dentist, get a haircut, see a movie, travel, meet a friend for lunch, babysit for my grandchildren, go to a wedding or do anything this requires sitting... I have to lie down on the back seat of a car in order to get anywhere. I have tried EVERYTHING, even two spinal stimulators. Nothing has helped. Dr. Feigenbaum DOES NOT CARE and has not shown any compassion nor taken any… responsibility when I have spoken to him since my surgery. He told me that the MRI shows that he did exactly what he was supposed to do. REALLY?? Does that mean that his goal was to turn me into an invalid with severe pain? He nor anyone from his office has called me once since my surgery to see how I'm doing. I had to call him. He did not warn me of the risks before the surgery either. There is a good reason why not one doctor in New York will perform this surgery! (And only 1 of 2 doctors in the entire U.S.) If I can help even just one person to stop him/her from having this surgery than this review is well worth it. Don't do it. You will regret it for the rest of your life.

I am so thankful for Dr. Feigenbaum's expertise in treating Tarlov cysts. I am almost entirely pain free for the first time in over 10 years.

I have Tarlov Cyst Disease & he diagnosed me & I had 8 Cysts & they had been overlooked for YEARS! At this point, I have a lot of damage due to other doctors saying they are "non-symptomatic" & Dr F is honest, to the point & makes certain he's covered all basis where this debilitating disease stands for you personally bc every ones is different. I had the surgery & 6 months post op. I have a slow recovery ahead but atleast I found a Dr. Who knew what had me in terrible pain for the last 15 years! And I'm on my way to a better life NOW!
