Dr. Frederick Mandell, MD

I took my kids to Doc Mandell when I couldn't get an appointment with our regular doctor. They were really sick with what I suspected was the flu. He is very cool and funny. He definitely put them at easy. He gave me some good tips to offset the symptoms. He answered my questions. He tested for the flu, and called me before I even got home with the results.

dont waste your time w/ this doc. terrible visit. did not even spend 2 minutes with us. pushed out the door.

Poor bedside manner, didn't even introduce himself to my son -- just ordered him on the exam table. The first visit took just a few minutes and was pretty shallow. Very disappointed.

I cancelled my appointment in the same phone call that I made it because the office woman was so rude. She must've been alone in the office because I can't imagine anyone being so obnoxious when another person is listening. I was in shock with the way she spoke to me and just drove my daughter to the ER. We were out of the ER, with medicine in hand, before the offered appointment.

I selected Dr. Mandell for a pediatrician when I was pregnant. I liked how he was willing to meet and discuss his practice with me before my daughter was born. He answers after-hours calls personally, which is nice. I was happy at first, but slowly came to notice the following issues, which caused me to find a new pediatrician.1. He doesn't seem to appreciate a sense of urgency. Nothing ever seems to be a big deal. For new moms, this can be a little unnerving. 2. His staff is not friendly or welcoming. They made me feel as if they were doing me a big favor every time i came into the office.3. I had insurance billing problems *every* time after an appointment. It was a nightmare! And to make it even worse, the billing coordinator at his office isn't very nice to work with.After I finally left, my new pediatrician asked me if my daughter had been vaccinated in the hospital for Hep. B. She couldn't tell from the records they sent over, so I called the office. Once again,… Dr. Mandell's staff was less than friendly, and made me feel like they were doing me a big favor. They took a couple of days just to tell me they didn't have any record of it either. Luckily, I just happened to have a handwritten record of her vaccination in a little booklet the hospital gave me. Turned out she had been vaccinated just after birth. Dr. Mandell is a very nice man, but I would not recommend him as a pediatrician, because I had so many problems with his office.

Dr. Mandell is so fast with giving shots that he's come and gone before my daughter even realizes what's going on. I'll chalk it up to his long experience. We've never had to deal with anything other than vaccinations, respiratory viruses & ear infections, and he's been good. Zero fuss, zero frills.

Ive been seeing Dr.Fred since I was born.He is the most kind, genuine and intelligent doctor I have ever met. He is the defenition of what a good pediatric doctor should be, and one of the rare examples of doctors who are doctors simply because they care about human life, he treats each patient almost like family. He isn't focused on the money, or time. He is focused on the patient, their needs and their well being.
