Dr. Frederick Meadors, MD

Dr. Meadors performed a surgery on my grandmother in which we were told would be very simple with little risk factor. Our initial meeting with him in the clinic, we waited for 2.5 hours to get back to the room. We were told it was just "a busy day" by his nurse. He made us feel very confident about the surgery assuring us that the risk was so low. We did not know until the nurse called with the time of surgery that my grandmother would need to stay overnight which concerned us with how "simple" the surgery actually was. Surgery went well, but there were complications after she had got in the room resulting in an emergency surgery that was also supposed to be "simple". We felt confident that it would be simple so did not bother family with travelling back to the hospital. My grandmother ended up in the ICVU and had to be recessitated. Dr. Meadors released her a few days later. We had to see Dr. Meadors during his clinic day the following week and waited in the waiting room for 3… hours. My grandmothers foot and leg was so swollen because this was the longest she had gone with it hanging down since the surgery. I asked a receptionist if there was a chair we could use to prop her foot on. She said she would tell the nurse. All of the chairs in the waiting room are connected or I would have propped it up myself. After waiting 30 minutes for a chair, I sat in the floor and held her leg up myself. We never did get a chair. We finally went back after 3 hours just to see the doctor for a max of 3 minutes. He talked over us to his nurse the whole time and did not have time to address our questions or concerns. My grandmother went back the next week to find herself waiting for hours again. Dr. Meadors should decrease his patient load, increase his time in the clinic, or figure out some way to avoid such VERY long wait time for patients. I get that he is busy, but after driving 2 hours one way to see him 3 weeks in a row, our time is also valuable.

This vain is still blocked 100%. and the nerves was cut, and the pain is worst today than before surgery..it is numb and painful and can't sleep at night now....I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, This happen over a year ago and leg is no better..I would not rate him very high, the work he did is not exceptable...now I am mess up, and he told me he cant do nothing about it.....very poorly work....

Dr. Meadors performed my aortic valve replacement surgery in Nov. 2012. During the surgery, he saw that he might be able to repair my bicuspid aoritc valve rather than replace it. Unfortunately, he was unable to. I also had an aortic mesh installed to help prevent enlarging. The scheduled 3-hour surgery actually took 6 hours, but it was because Dr. Meador was trying to save my valve rather than take the easy way out and replace it. He also took the time to visit me on Thanksgiving, even though he took the day off. I was really impressed by him and highly recommend Dr. Meadors.

Dr. Meadors was personable, gave good explanations of procedures and answers to questions and is a skilled surgeon. What more could one ask for(?).

I have never been so disappointed at any physician as I was of Dr Fred Meadors. I waited in the wsiting room for almost an hour, only to go back to the exam room and have him act very rude and unconcerned. I will never go to him again.

Dr. Meadors was great. I've never seen a guy who was so confident. His demeanor really made me feel better about the operation. He also was very good in spending as much time as needed discussing the operation and alternatives with us. I'd recommend him to anyone without reservation.
