Dr. Gabrielle Carlson, MD

Condescending and rude. I look back to her evaluation of my son years ago and cannot believe that she is still practicing and most likely causing upheaval and unnecessary stress in many families. So many of these Drs spend 15 mins and throw a prescription or multiple at these children instead of helping these families find and navigate many positive resources to help our children with special needs. It's creepy how she belittled the parents that wanted to try other resources before jumping to a chemical straight jacket. The teacher that reported alleged 'aggressive' behavior from my child was banned from teaching younger children. Sometimes there are other sides to a schools story, like the truth. Avoid this Dr and remember, be your childs biggest advocate, if it doesn't feel right to you, say no.

Objective To examine the safety and efficacy of liquid risperidone to reduce duration of rages in children with severe mood dysregulation (SMD) or possible bipolar disorder (BP). Procedure A rage outburst was defined as sufficient agitation and loss of control such that the child was unable to â??time outâ?? (i.e. sit in a chair for 10 minutes on being told to do so) or was a danger to himself or others and a higher level of intervention was needed. In order to compare the efficacy of medication against usual treatment (i.e. seclusion/restraint), a first rage outburst in the hospital was treated non-medically; that is, the child was placed in an isolation room. The door remained open if the child was able to regain control and take the time out in the room; otherwise the door was closed. If there was a second episode, the child was told â??You need some medicine to help you get back in control. Take this medicine or we may have to give you a shotâ??. If agreeable, the… child was given 0.015 mg/kg of liquid risperidone. TRANSLATION, TAKE THIS DRUG FOR THE BIG PHARMA STUDY KID OR WE STICK YOU WITH A HYPODERMIC NEEDLE. Contrary to psychiatric opinion, children are not â??experimental animals.â?? They are human beings who have every right to expect protection, care, love and the chance to reach their full potential in life. A chance denied them by psychiatryâ??s labels, THREATS, INJECTIONS and chemical straitjackets.

This woman is extremely RUDE. She needs to understand that hearing there is something wrong with your child whether physical or mental can be very emotional. I think she needs to retire and make room for younger doctors that have compassion. She thinks nothing of putting a child away in a hospital and doesn't really consider alternatives.She treated me like a was irrelevant.I am definitely looking for another doctor for my child. Please RUN far away from this woman.Unless you can handle your child (who already has emotional issues) being tortured by this witch.This is my child and this woman could care less. Sorry Dr. Carlson, your going to have to look for another guinea pig to lock away for six weeks. Not MY daughter!!!!!!! RUN PEOPLE RUN!!!!!

Dr. G. Carlson has worked with my sons since they were young. She accurately diagnosed their situations and was persistent to obtain the best treatment possible. Her honesty helped our family to understand what other doctors had not been able to explain. I feel that she saved the emotional health of me family .

she has no compassion for children,she is not friendly and very mean to not only children but adults as well..inaccurate information. thinks she knows everything rude not caring or looking to help,puts children down i could continue i would not see her she is the worst!
