Dr. Gaby N Moawad, MD

Dr. Moawad is a brilliant surgeon; extremely knowledgable, remarkably skilled and super caring. I cannot even express how grateful I am to have been referred to him! I needed to get hysterectomy done and most surgeons advised me that it could not be done in a minimally invasive manner - due to size and difficulty of surgery in my case. After lots of research, Dr. Moawad was recommended by many. My consult visit was very detailed. He took his time and explained every single detail. His staff are extremely helpful to arrange the following steps: i.e. imaging appointments and hospital arrangements, etc. My surgery was done utilizing da Vinci robot, in a least invasive manner. My recovery time was fast and painless, it was truly beyond my imagination! As a health care provider myself, I feel obligated to share my experience to help others to get the best possible treatment done with utmost outcomes.

Do you need reassurance? Do you need your pain explained and healed? Dr. Moawad is just the person! I cannot begin to thank him for my new life. My endometriosis came back and after an ablation surgery in May, it only got worse. Dr. Moawad was able to diagnose a much more severe form of endometriosis within minutes of the exam and scheduled a surgery right away. If I hadn't, I might have lost a kidney and wouldn't have known. I cannot imagine the complications that could've come from this. His bedside manner is wonderful, our appointment lasted an hour--surprising as it was scheduled for 4:30, unheard of with many doctors, he thoroughly explained everything pre and post-op, and has given me my life back. HE HAS GIVEN ME MY LIFE BACK! Yes it is quite expensive, but after seeing other specialists who had no answers, it was what we had already spent, so save the money and see him first. It was worth getting my life and healthy future back, and I am me again! I cannot recommend him enough!

Dr. Moawad is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I told him that I was there for a second opinion due to recently been told that I would need invasive surgery and be out of work for 4-6 weeks due to uterine fibroids. He is so thorough, honest, knowledgeable, and funny (sarcastic and very real), which put me at ease. He answered all of my questions (and I had a ton of them) and he explained things very clearly. He had me get an MRI prior to surgery (which neither of the other doctors had requested) which was reassuring that he wanted to see the full picture. He worked with me to schedule my laparoscopic surgery so that I didn't have to miss my scheduled travel. I was out of work for only one week and have been recovering well. It has been one month and already the scars are very minimal due to his care. I would recommend Dr. Moawad to everyone.

Dr. Moawad conducted a minimally invasive surgery when two other physicians told me: 1. they didn't want to attempt the surgery based on my history, and; 2. If they did do the surgery, it would likely require them to open me up. When I met with Dr. Moawad and explained my history (I had an extensive ex-lap from a ruptured appendix that ended up causing bilateral hydrosalpinx that required salpingectomy. I additionally had many, many adhesions as well as endometriosis that needed to be removed), he was confident he could get the job done using laparoscopy. Given the prior 2 consultations with other doctors, I was highly skeptical. We proceeded with the procedure after discussing and agreeing that "less is more" given I was wary of another major abdominal surgery. I was absolutely shocked to come out of anesthesia to find he addressed EVERYTHING (my tubes, my endometriosis, and removing the adhesions) and he did it all with only 4 small incisions, laparoscopic as promised. I would… highly recommend Dr. Moawad to anyone that is getting surgical advice from their OB. He was able to literally change my life through a minor surgery.

I had endometriosis excision done a month ago by Dr. Moawad and his team. I did not know there could be such high quality medical care. I never felt I was being ignored or not heard by him or any member of his team. Truly an exceptional experience that has renewed my faith in medicine. Most importantly, I already feel so much better now after surgery. My recovery was very quick. I'm getting my life back thanks to Dr. Moawad.

In 2016 I had a full hysterectomy, minus one ovary. After I continued to suffer from pelvic pain. Almost immediately after the hysterectomy a mass formed in my pelvis. I had been told it was a resolving hematoma. After 1 year and 4 months, radiologists were still calling the mass a resolving hematoma. I had been told by my previous doctors that I would have to live with the pain. After a month of terrible pain, I sought out a new doctor and radiologist. I blindly went to see a random gynecologist (Dr. Hawa) after an ultrasound and MRI contradicted what I had been previously told. Dr. Hawa in Ashburn informed me that I had an endometrioma and referred me to super specialist Dr. Moawad. Dr. Hawa contracted Dr. Moawad on Monday and I was called the next day. I had an appointment the following day. Th care provided by Dr. Moawad has been compassionate and excellent. Dr. Moawad recently performed my robotic surgery to remove the endometrioma and endometriosis. He believes he was able to… excise all the endometriosis. Thank you Dr. Moawad! You have changed my life!

Dr. Gaby Moawad was heaven sent and he gave me hope with positive outcome! I went to several other doctors regarding my health options and they all stated that Dr. Moawad is the best in the Washington DC metropolitan area; he’s the only one that could potentially resolve my issue. He definitely did with great success! Not only is he the best, but he’s extremely knowledgeable, patient, understanding and provided the ultimate care. I was referred to Dr. Moawad by my primary gynecologist. I had multiple large fibroids that were painful. I met with Dr. Moawad and discussed options and decided to move forward with laparoscopic myomectomy. Dr. Moawad and his team were very professional, helpful and took excellent care of me. I had an endo surgery with Dr. Moawad. Yes I did feel a bit rushed and wanted to have more explanation to my questions and concerns. But overall, my experience was positive. My surgery was good, no complication and no or minimal pain afterwards.
