Dr. Gale Lynette Hylton, MD

I've very grateful for Dr. Hylton. I've seen her for the last 14 years. I was with her at Palo Alto Medical Foundation and followed her when she went into private practice. I now get both medication management and therapy from her and see her about once every 3 weeks. She is amazing at her profession. Things I like about her: 1. Got me on the right meds on her first try (I had tried other things with other psychiatrists that didn't work). 2. Talks straight. My therapy with her has very little navel gazing and a lot of practical advice. She will tell you what she thinks. 3. Is available in a crisis. I've had family or friends call her on her emergency line and she has been easy to get and has given excellent advice that got me through the stumble. 4. Does support work promptly: refilling prescriptions, returning calls, writing letters. 5. Makes me feel like I'm empowered. We make decisions together. 6. Runs on-time. I will caution you that she doesn't often take new… patients and she takes a while to return new patient phone call inquiries.

Dr. Hylton is an amazing doctor and a true healer. She genuinely cares about her patients and is committed to their recovery. She is unfailingly intelligent, thoughtful, kind, caring and compassionate. There is no better doctor.

Dr. Hylton is a wonderful, caring, competent doctor, who has extended herself to me in many ways. She is unfailingly kind, supportive, intelligent, and practical. Her advice is good. She will listen to patient input and concerns and work with you on your care. She once returned an email from me when she was on vacation! I could not recommend her more highly.
