Dr. Gary Dale Bos, MD

My experience with Dr. Bos (back in 1990, in Portland, OR) was that he had true compassion for all of his patients, including me. Dr. Bos tried very hard to save my leg from bone cancer, but had to make the hard decision to amputate it above the knee. My children were 5 months and 41/2 years old so this was an easy decision for me as I wanted to live. Possibly because of his decision (and later my own decision to take responsibility of my own health through lifestyle choices) I'm alive and well today. (My children are now 22 & 26!)I highly recommend Dr. Bos and I found him to be kind, compassionate and skilled. He was actually the best doctor I could have had in these circumstances.

I was born with a rare bone disease and so naturally went to see Dr. Bos. At no point did he help me with my condition and indeed treated me with arrogance and contempt. When I went to him for arm trouble, he naturally assumed that I had Carpel Tunnel syndrome despite the fact that my wrist was swollen and despite the fact that he took no x-rays. This went on for six years over which time I was not able to do my art work or even hold a cup of coffee without dropping it. I finally had to walk into a clinic where they x-rayed my arm and descovered that I had a significant deformity and that I was missing a significant part of my ulna. Indeed, he failed on all counts to treat my bone disease and even misdiagnosed me with the wrong disease. Now I find that I have all sorts of arthritis and that my disease is more severe than I had thought. I suffered years of misery, which was only made worse by the doctor's bigoted treatment. I will never trust anyone with MD after their name… again. I can not forgive this man.

DR.Bos, Having suffered a cancerous tumor for years, Dr. Bos was able to righty diagonise and treat me. I hae been to so many doctors but Dr. Bos is rare. He has the best bedside manners which is eespcially needed if you are in the onclogy field. He relates well with you understands your problems well to carefully treat you.

This man saved my life. After an unsuccessful operation to relieve "carpal tunnel syndrome" by a neurologist, Dr. Bos discovered and removed a rare cancerous tumor 12 years ago. Survival rate for this tumor is 50% with treatment: without diagnosis I would be dead. He also has an excellent bedside manner; my only trouble was he was too popular and spent lots of time with each patient (oncology is like that) so the appointments were always late.
