Dr. Gary Paul Foley, MD

Dr Foley came into our ER room, sat down, leaned back, crossed his arms, never checked over the patient, asked a few questions (the same questions that had been asked by the PA, with no new ones) and quickly surmised that the patient was dehydrated, then over-hydrated which was causing the symptoms. I questioned his diagnosis as it didn’t make sense, and he brushed over it with a meager explanation. Had he truly looked over the patient, he would’ve seen she was jaundiced. But he didn’t. And he sent the patient home with the instructions to “drink less water.” Less than 24 hrs later the patient was back at the ER, jaundiced and very sick. The medical team that took over her case from that point were responsible, thorough, and truly focused on figuring the causes for her symptoms. Two surgeries later, the patient is doing very well. Had she not gone back in, the degree of infection would’ve moved very quickly into sepsis. Dr Foley may have had fatigue (at least I hope that… was the reason for his incompetence), but I also hope this serves as a wake-up call to LOOK OVER HIS PATIENTS CAREFULLY, and if he’s too tired to do so, then send in another Doc and go get some sleep.

When I was being treated like a drug addict while weaning from my Ativan, I had a very angry/rude doctor who would not help me. I ended up in the ER room due to going off Ativan too fast. Dr Foley was very nice, considerate and treated me like a human being should be treated. He helped me through this rough time for which I am very greatful! I highly recommend this doctor!
