Saved my life

I was evaluated by the best in Boston who misdiagnosed me over and over. Frustrated, I decided to try the local cardiology group and was blessed to have Dr. Idelchik see me. He correctly diagnosed me immediately and after further, directed testing, I underwent surgery and have never felt better. He is truly a rare breed of physician who not only listens, but has the knowledge and ability to integrate knowledge like no other physician I have ever met.

Five Stars

I was referred to Dr. Idelchik for a potential problem. After thorough testing, my issue turned out to be a minor one. He is friendly, thoughtful, informative, great sense of humor, and above all, professional. He went over any tests he did/or was going to do and also the results. He listens and answers any questions. I would recommend him without reservation.

Dr. Idelchik's arrogance almost ended my life

My initial visit with Dr. Idekchik was commendable. I was having difficulty breathing on and off for a few weeks and he saw me right away & started a battery of testing that all came out negative. Two weeks later I had a follow-up and was getting progressively worse. I was now unable to walk to the Diagnostic Lab & needed a wheelchair to get to the stress test. They induced me chemically and again negative so I get sent away again for two weeks. I begged him for heart medication & was told by him that I don't have a cardiac problem so he wouldn't give me medication. My next appointment came and I could barely breathe. I raised my voice to him & told him if he didn't go in & start looking for a problem I would be dead in a week. Finally, he says he'll do an angiogram. Behold, it was discovered I have a cardiac problem. Super genius prescribes a 30 mg nitrate & tells me I'll get used to it. I can now walk but my breathing hasn't improved that much. A nurse mentions to me that combination therapy could help. I mention this to him & he prescribes a beta blocker. I can finally breathe but I feel over medicated. I ask repeatedly over the course of 7 months for a smaller dose of the nitrate. Then, my heart stops for 30 seconds shortly after taking the nitrate. I call his office & they don't even have me come in to check my heart rhythm but call back & say he ordered a halter monitor for me to wear. I promptly found a caring cardiologist in Albany by word of mouth. I'm doing great & on 5 mg of the nitrate & beta blocker. Dr. Idelchik would never "try" seeing that I was super sensitive to medications & nearly ended my life. His arrogance prolonged my suffering. I hope many people read this and look elsewhere for a cardiologist. I'm 52 now and extremely grateful to be living my life. Only you know what feels right & if your cardiologist isn't "listening"... Find another cardiologist.

exceptional

I understand why the person gave an unfavorable review. I also felt like the doctor was harsh and unforgiving on my first visit, but after seeing the doctor several times now, he has been wonderful. He asks questions and listens to your answers and will answer any questions you might have. I find him pleasant, caring and very knowledgeable about his specialty. I could recommend him to anyone.
