Dr. Gary Don Schick, MD

Today's appointment was to schedule and to discuss having an ablation for my back. He explained the process, possible pain involved, and answered my questions. Dr. Schick made feel as comfortable about the procedure as I can be.

This was my first visit to Dr Schick and this facility and I was really impressed. First, I was sent a detailed map of the facility that identified where to find Dr Schick’s practice. Second, I waited about 10 minutes before being escorted to the exam room where the nurse promptly began her responsibilities and, upon completion, Dr Schick entered. Finally, the most impressive part of my visit was Dr Schick conversed with me. He reviewed the reports I had brought, he asked questions and listened to my responses and he offered a more promising option. I left feeling like this doctor was interested in me as an individual. It was a positive experience.

Great doctor. Knows exactly what needs to be done. Clearly communicates and ensures you understand the diagnosis and plan. Always asks if I have any questions. Neck injections could cause some worry, but his expertise and professionalism reduces the worry. I have had multiple neck injections and have no anxiety. I definitely recommend. His nurses and staff are very nice as well and make sure you get what you need.

The doctor is pleasant and thorough. He answers questions and reviews everything to ensure you understand and are able to make necessary decisions for treatment. The problem I have is that the office requires you to set up a personal profile and recommends you utilize the patient portal. I did as instructed, but when I attempted on several occasions to send a message to the doctor, I never received a response. When I informed the nurse of this problem, she informed me she didn't have time to read or respond to the patient portal. When I explained that I do not get reliable cell service at my home and rely on those portals for communication, she just said, "Well, I guess you're screwed." I was shocked and appalled. She then wanted to review my medications list. I let her know it was an extensive list, so I had updated the portal at home before my visit, so I wouldn't forget any meds. Once again, she told me she didn't have time to read it, so she needed me to tell her the information,… so she could just write it down. I could not recall all of them. She asked what pharmacy I used. When I told her the name and address, she wanted me to explain how to get there. She is not from OKC and didn't recognize the street names I provided, so she got very upset with me that she didn't understand where it was. I asked why that mattered, since she had the name and address, and she just slammed her pen down and left the room. Her name is Cindy, and she is extremely rude. She may be the reason I choose to find a different doctor.

Great doctor with good eval and great caring advice to fit my needs. Thank you for your knowledge and compassion!

Always very helpful answering any questions and gives information understandable for patient. Goes over procedures thoroughly with patients. Always pleasant.

Dr. Schick is an amazing Dr. He always gives great advice and has never just wanted to schedule a costly procedure unless absolutely needed. He listens very closely to your issue and together he will decide the best way to address it. He has great bedside maners and is very thorough.
