Dr. Gary Wayne Snell, MD

I was a patient for 25 years. He was always very direct, which these pansies writing reviews take as rudeness. old school and to the point. I will miss him.

Dr. Snell needs to step it up or simply give it up. The office is really old and outdated. The bathroom is pissy. He can be very rude and so can his staff, everyone but the Nurse that comes in with him. She's a older, shorter Caucasian lady who wears glasses. She's just as sweet as she can be. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about everyone else. Front Desk Receptionist, First name initial "T" is OK, just depends on the day she's having. I stopped seeing him because of cleanliness issues in the office, Dr. Snell and his staff being rude, and questionable knowledge this Dr. has. Don't get me wrong... I think he's good for the old school patients 70 and up, but we're in a new, updated time. Manufacture's don't even make any of the medical equipment and furniture this office still has and uses.

I just don't feel like he listens. And I don't like his bedside manner.

Been seeing Dr. Snell most of my life. He is always available and always kind.

this doctor has an ego issue!

My sons and Husband have been going to him for many years. The office looks the same as the first day they walked in. Its out dated yellowed, floor needs a good cleaning too! The staff is very rude, and one particular person at the desk is a real B****. He himself can be extremely rude and has no problem with yelling at the staff in front of you. My husband had been going to him and telling him about knee and hip pain, his response was loose weight and take Aleve. I went ahead and made an appointment with a orthopedic, after x-rays and MRI they found his bone was deterring away. FYI Dr. Snell has a X-ray machine that's older than he is! Was told by the specialist to take the report to the primary dr. (Snell) and get an appointment ASAP for blood work and if need a referral for a endocrinologist. Now Snell would have my hubs go for blood test every 6 months but NEVER had his Vitamin D or calcium checked, or few other things which according to 2 other REAL Drs. should have been normal… for him to have checked at least once a year. Well, hubby goes back to work that day and I took the report to Snells office and explained to the "thing" at the desk what the Orthopaedic surgeon said and asked for appointment as ASAP well..... hubby goes to see this dr. and I go with him, Snell comes into the room and starts YELLING at me for telling that "thing" at the desk that it was emergency to be seen. He further told me that if he needed to be seen that bad the Ortho would have called him personally. I was in shock so was the hubs I was left speechless. Neither hubs or I said a thing as I sat there taking his verbal abuse and yelling I just looked at him in amazement Snell then asked me what's wrong with you huh? What's wrong with you again as I said nothing. He then just shook his head then started to check on my hubs who was already stressed out. Needless to say that was the last time anyone in my family has been there. If you love walking on glass and don't mind verbal abuse and having to talk with an arrogant "desk clerk" then he is your man. Office is out dated, dingy, yellowed and floors need cleaning. We were wondering about some of his equipment if it gets cleaned. When the hubs went to his new doctor he is very pleased and said Now that's what a doctors office should look like. The new doctor is great (he's around the Connor from Snells office) Please research other doctors. if you research this one on a few sites you won't read many nice things IMO.

Went to the quack for a simple thing. I had a boil from wearing a weight lifting belt. He, without any concern, lanced it, squeezed it (which I never felt as much pain), and then proceeded to place a tape bandage (to the dismay of the attending nurse) right on the wound without trying to shave the area or use less adhesive tape. I was in a lot of pain in that area. He tells me to remove and change the dressing that evening. It took my wife over 1 hour to get the tape off without me screaming in pain. I later went to Surgical Associates because there was still a lump left in that area. That surgeon numbed the whole area, told me that there was scare tissue from the way the doctor handled the lancing, and he finished the job without any pain whatsoever. Dr.Snell said that you could not numb the area. That you could only topically numb it and I would still feel pain. The surgeon said that was not true....and proved it! This doctor is incompetent and sounds like old school… procedures. He has no tolerance or bedside manner and concern for his patients.

The office is a scene from a WW2 movie, I wouldn't take my dog there.

The problem I had with Dr. Snell, is that when I went in to see him (I am female) he would berate me and rack me over the coals for my weight issues. When my husband goes in, he will just say, "let's watch that weight now. I know it's hard, look at me" (he's got a belly too). Then he will joke around with my husband about whether or not my husband needs the little blue pill yet or not. I was keeping a diary of what I ate and he said to me "there is no way you can only be eating that and not be losing weight". Why not just call me a liar!That was the day he put me over the edge. I got really upset with this and starting hysterically crying (I do not normally cry in front of people) and he just got up and walked out of the room. I was ready to rip this mans head off!!! His entire staff just stood there looking a me, not saying a word. I told the staff "I hope he treats you better than he treats his patients".He never came out to see if I was okay or anything. I left there… that day and never returned.My husband has continued to go to him and like one of the other reviews stated, Dr. Snell requires a return visit after every blood test. My husband has thyroid issues so he requires a blood test every 3 mths and instead of calling my husband if there is a problem with that test, he has to go in and pay for the doc to say everything looks good. Ridiculous! Luckily our insurance is changing and my husband will have no choice now to go to another doctor. He's upset with this, but I'm a new doctor will be better at treating his thyroid.

I've been going to Dr Snell to try to get my blood pressure regulated for 6 months. He seems to like reoccurring follow up visits as all the other patients in his office kept commenting that it seemed like they were just there last week. Has made little to no progress in my health care issues. He is not getting me taken care of. His staff is rude and short with me and they have no compassion. I say he is just milking insurance and medicaid payments but not taking care of the real issues.
