Dr. Gayle Parke Crawford, MD

While the doctors are ok, the administration staff (mostly at the Arvada office) is highly unprofessional, downright rude and incredibly frustrating. Here are the reasons why: 1) There is no attempt to connect with patients or read charts ahead of appointments. Every time I've gone into the office Im asked multiple times why Im there, by the front desk, the nurses and even the doctors. TTC is stressful enough without feeling like a broken record. In my chart I specifically asked for only female doctors. When I showed up for the post coital test (has to be done in a short window after ovulation and sex) they gave me a male doctor. I didn't know I was going to have a male doctor until I was already in the room on the table. 2) Their follow up is lousy and they lose test results. The nurses never answer the phone when you call and they very rarely call back. I've had prescriptions not called into pharmacies and left high and dry when I go to pick up. They lost my husbands… semen analysis and we only found out b/c we realized they hadn't given us the results for more than 2 weeks. When we asked where they were, they told us we'd have to call and get them. **I scheduled time to talk to the front desk manager about my concerns. She listened thoroughly and said they were sorry for my experience and said they would do their best to correct the situation. Despite the promise the poor experiences continued. 3) They are rude and disrespectful. When my husband and I decided to meet with CCRM, we asked that our records be transferred. It took me sending request forms twice and calling and leaving multiple messages a day with their records department. They never once returned my call event to give me an eta on delivery. They finally faxed my records after I said I'd drive over and pick up. the records handler had the audacity to tell me that legally they have 30 days. I originally requested the records almost 4 weeks prior. 4) They are too busy. I also called to schedule an ultrasound for my first run with Clomid and of course had to leave a voicemail. When she called me back she (rudely) said they were full for the day and to call in the morning to try and get in. I asked if I could schedule then and she said no. When I called in the morning and left another voicemail, they called back 2 hours later and told me they were full for the day.

I saw Dr. Crawford on 3 occasions. The first was in the E.R where I was told my pregnancy wasnt viable. I was instructed to make an apt. the next day for a D & C, luckily Dr. Sweeny (a great doctor!) caught that it was a mistake and I was able to go forth with the pregnancy and it was in fact viable. The next time I saw Dr. Crawford was after an ultrasound. She came in to talk to me and told me it would be necessary to see a specialist and that She had never seen anything like this ultrasound. There were no words of comfort; it was literally a 3 minute office visit before I was on my way out the door. I was scared out of my mind thinking I was having a deformed baby. The specialist couldnt find a thing wrong with my son. The third time I saw Dr. Crawford unfortunately was on the day of my delivery. My doctor wasnt on call. She missed my delivery after being paged 3 times. She showed up 15minutes after I delivered my own son with my mother by my side. I had a 2nd degree labial tear that… she sewed up. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days and saw her two times. She checked my wound twice. Three days after being home my husband and I realized that something was terribly wrong. I had been sewed together! I had to have Labiaplasty surgery. I never received a phone call or apology from Dr. Crawford; I was never checked on etc. Her co worker did the corrective surgery and I was charged for Dr. Crawfords mistake. I will never look the same unless I have another corrective surgery with an actual plastic surgeon. I hope this experience will open some peoples eyes to the importance of finding a good doctor. 30 years of experience doesnt mean anything these days and you have to do your homework.
