I was extremely fortunate that my primary care physician got it into his head that he could charge a zillion dollars and switch to being a "concierge" doctor. As a result, all of the wise patients that were unwilling to fork over the extreme extra dough to stay with that doctor got shuffled over to Dr. Balboa. THANK THE LORD! My diabetes was raging out of control with my prior doctor but Dr. Balboa got it under control and set me up with specialists to monitor my blood sugar, feet and eyes. If Dr. Balboa hadn't come into my life I might very well be dead now or at the very least be hobbling around on stumps from losing my feet to my uncontrolled diabetes. Dr. Balboa is very friendly and he demonstrates that he cares a great deal about the people under his medical supervision. As many other reviewers have stated, he takes the time to ensure that he can take the very best care of his patients. I've never felt rushed by him despite his busy schedule. Simply put, Dr. Balboa is AMAZING. You… won't find a better doctor!

Dr. Gene Balboa, MD is excellent, a truly talented physician. I feel fortunate to have found him by reading reviews on Healthgrades Website. I am over 60 years old and have seen a number of doctors. Indeed, Dr. Balboa goes above and beyond his call of duty for his patients. He is highly professional, gracious, and never hurried. He spent more time with me than any internist I had seen. He has even called me personally at home to discuss my lab test results. In addition to his calming and reassuring manner, he is extremely knowledgeable and very thorough. His caring approach above all helped greatly in correctly identifying my medical problems. I shall wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Balboa.

I have been seeing Dr. Balboa for three years now and I can honestly say that he is the best doctor I have ever been to. I have been a patient of Dr. Balboa's for several years at Yaffe Rudin and I recommend him to anyone who will listen. Dr. Balboa is very thorough and pleasant and I never feel like he forgets who I am between visits. Most importantly, when my husband was in for a physical, Dr. Balboa discovered a massive tumor in his heart, of which we were completely unaware. Within the month (at the age of 29) my husband had open heart surgery. I truly believe that this would not have been detected by a doctor less thorough. Also, my insurance has changed several times over the past few years and I have never had a problem with acceptance. Tip: I prefer visiting his office hours in the quieter office on 84th St.

I highly recommend Dr. Gene Balboa. He gets to the bottom of things and is very thorough. Dr. Balboa has been my Dr. for many years and is easy to talk with and he listens to what you have to say. His bedside manner is excellent - he is a nice person in addition to being a very good doctor and diagnostician. Dr. Balboa is also accessible and returns phone calls and emails. Good doctor, good person, accessible.

Dr. Balboa has been my doctor for 3+ years. He is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and truly takes an interest in his patients. He makes himself extremely accessible either by appointment or by email and I have always felt comfortable asking him for advice, help, or clarification at any time. I have finally found a doctor who actually listens and hears me and my concerns. I have since moved out of New York and plan to continue to work with Dr. Balboa in the near future. Afterall, great doctors are hard to find.
