To renew my allopurinol prescription he makes you make an appointment every three months. Uses the nonrenewal of prescription as blackmail. Other rheumatologists once a year is sufficient.
Real Medicine

Living in New York with many doctors in town and still not finding what was wrong with me I was referred to Dr Munoz by my friends husband who is a doctor in Ohio at the Cleveland Clinic. I called his office immediately thinking there would be a waiting list NO to my surprise I was told Dr Munoz keeps appointment slots open and all new patients can get an appointment typically within 10 days because I was traveling I made an appointment 2 weeks later. Again to my surprise I was greeted friendly and professionally by friendly staff which says a lot they must be happy working for him! The other people in the waiting room seemed very happy too. I was taken to an exam room and my visit started I saw his nurses his PA and him he spent more time with me then any other doctor looking thru my records talking how I felt what I felt then what he thought he ordered current blood work and a couple other tests immediately knowing I was coming from New York and wanted to see me before I went back I saw him again 5 days later and had a diagnosis we started a treatment plan he asked us it was possible to make the trip once a month for the first few months so he could monitor my condition closely he also offered if once a month was to much of a hardship he would refer me to a colleague in NY and he would coordinate care directly with that doctor WHAT doctor does that these days I have now seen him 5 times in 5 months I am doing so much better functioning like I am 20 years younger my last visit he scheduled for 3 months I would still go see him every month if I had to his office is clean I have seen the manager walking around checking rooms the staff is warm and he is the BEST caring warm honest and most important listens.
Save your time & patience and see a different rheumatologist

First, I'd like to say that this is the only review I have ever posted. My experience has been so awful that I want to help anyone from experiencing this. Save your time & patience and don't bother with this one. After my rheumatologist of many years retired, I was referred to Dr. Munoz. I did my research & initially had high hopes after reading about his awards & work. That was the only positive part of my experience. Dr. Munoz is more interested in selling his vitamins and supplements than actual patient care. I have had several appointments & have only been seen by the doctor once & the only person who has physically lay a hand on my skin was his X-ray tech (which was a nice lady). Neither Dr. Munoz or his PA have any sort of bedside manners. I have had multiple experiences "trying" to get refills on prescriptions. My calls/ messages go unanswered & it has taken up to 2 weeks to get them to approve my refills. They don't even respond to calls made by my insurance company. Their office is closed at 2 different times throughout the work day making getting an appointment or someone to answer the phone quite difficult. Dr. Munoz should stick to his research and selling of supplements. He really should stop seeing patients. Needless to say, I'm on the search for another rheumatologist.

Dr. Muinos treated my son when he was admitted into the hospital via emergency room for horrible chest pains. He treated my son for pill esophagitis due to an acne medication that had been stuck in esophagus and caused ulcers. He was informative and funny. My son and I really liked him. Six months later and I am still Impressed with this doctor who successfully treated my son. Office is very busy as many doctors offices are at hospitals, but I don’t mind waiting to see good doctors.
Very Compassionate Doctor and staff

Having an illness which could be deadly it is reassuring to know you have a backbone of support behind holding you holding your all the way, explaining every detail as we go along and listening to my questions over and over never becoming frustrated. This is real medicine good old fashion medicine. I very much like how Dr. Munoz integrative training with his traditional training compliments each other and never pushing unnecessary medication. Staff is warm and friendly while professional at the same time, office is pristine, great pride taken which is a reflection of who the people are in this office. They are a team who work hard to make it happen. Most testing available on site so you are not running around town waiting for appointments and more importantly if you are in pain and don't have n appointment they have an walk-in er service for current patients, they see you when your sick and not well, not months later when they have an open slot and your feeling better. You may have to wait a little longer but heck who cares while they fit you in and what doctors office today to you not have to sit and wait? Thank you Dr. Munoz and your staff for making a potentially unpleasant experience it one very pleasant I could have under my circumstances.
This doctor is a joke

This office is atrocious. They have no respect for patients. Waiting over an hour and not answering phone calls during normal business hours is the regular business in this office. I’ve been taking the same medication for over an year and it’s taking me over 6 calls (1 hour each) to get a simple refill. Receptionists lied that the prescription was sent and I’ll be going in my second consecutive week without my medication because of how poor their service is. I’ll be definitely looking for another rheumatologist after tomorrow.

Top-notch doctor! Dr. Munoz’s extensive background in Western and Eastern medicine, state of art facility, which is fully equipped with an on site lab drawing station, X-ray and vascular/bone imaging machines makes his practice a unique, efficient, quality, stress-free, healthy experience for patients. I loved my visit at the Oasis center, and experienced 2 hours of customized quality healthy care. Dr. Munoz was generous with his time, detailed in his assessment and treatment plan, and explained quality information in an easy, absorbable format. If you are looking for highest quality in health care/integrative medicine, gift yourself an appointment with Dr. Munoz. The Oasis Center will exceed your expectations. Thank you, Dr. Munoz!

He really listens to you, his staff is amazing and listen too, they have many things to do but always manage to get the job done. Too many people are impatient and entitled - this office does a great job and takes their time in doing so that everyone is treated well.
