Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Sotos grew up in Northern Virginia but has been in practice in Montgomery County since 1994. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, he attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital, and his fellowship in medical oncology at the National Institutes of Health. He has served as coordinator of the Aerodigestive multidisciplinary tumor boards and the Chair of Hematology and Oncology subsection at Suburban Hospital since 2000, and was recognized with the Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Excellence Physician of the Year award in 2019. Outside of work, Dr. Sotos enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, writing, and trying to learn golf.
