Dr. Gerald Patrick Gibson, MD

Another reviewer's experience with Dr. Gibson was very similar to ours except in our case my wife was actually having a stroke. This was in 2002 in Jefferson City, MO and I rushed my wife to the ER after she became violently ill, was having double vison and was slurring her words. The first think he asked was how much she had been drinking that evening (1/2 glass of wine). He came back with a sedative and said "she was just having a vertigo spell". I kept saying that I think it is a stroke and became very angry and said that he was the doctor here and "33-year women don't have strokes" and "as soon as she can stand on her own she will be discharged." He refused to have an MRI done, which was ordered the next day by a neurologist that confirmed a "moderate" stroke. Four weeks later after she learned to speak, walk and feed herself again, she was able to leave the hospital. Later, we were told by another specialist she would have likely walked out of the hospital the next days if… anti-clotting drugs had been administered in the ER. We were lucky she didn't die in the ER that night and she still has complications. Keep yourself and loved ones away from Dr. Gibson.

Dr. Gibson treated my husband in the ER when he had a brain tumor. He was informative, considerate, compassionate and very professional. That was a difficult time and I would recommend him to anyone. He is one of the very best! Geri Cook-Lenahan
