Dr. Marc Franklin, MD

A Friend referred Me to Dr. Marc Franklin, M.D. in New Braunfels. I realize now, I was quite Fortunate that Day... I found Dr. Franklin and his Staff to be Kind, Caring, and Professional. I was suffering from Sinus Health Issues that were nearly UNBEARABLE to live with, nearly Impossible! Since I was introduced to Dr. Franklin and his Staff My Suffering has been nearly COMPLETELY ERADICATED! What also impressed Me I was treated with Respect by what I could tell were Trained Professionals. Honestly, I felt at Home, very relaxed. Dr. Franklin & Staff...I Owe All of You Good Folks a Personnel Debt of Gratitude for allowing Me to Wake Up each and every Morning and BREATHE once again! I'm Eternally Grateful to All of You... Less than 48 hours before my son's scheduled surgery, we were notified that we owed $3,000 upfront. This unexpected and last-minute notice left my husband and me scrambling to make a decision. Realizing we could not afford such a large sum, we called the ENT center first thing the next morning to cancel the procedure. To our shock, we were informed of a $250 cancellation fee. While I understand the need for policies to discourage last-minute cancellations, the way this situation was handled felt unfair and exploitative. We made the difficult decision to cancel only after receiving critical billing information so late, and we acted promptly once we had all the details. However, we are being penalized for not knowing the total cost sooner. When we tried to address our concerns with someone in the office, we were hung up on. At no point were we disrespectful or raised our voices—we simply wanted an explanation that made sense. This practice not only put us in an impossible position but… also added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.

His agressive surgery has left me with Empty Nose Syndrome (confirmed). Tried to discuss my surgery (some conflicting info) he refueled t see me again. I DO NOT Recommend him. To agressive. He only cares about his reputation.

Dr. Franklin removed a lipoma (fatty tumor) from the right side base of my neck in 2005 while he was in Douglasville, ga. My surgery was at Cobb hosptial. The surgery was supposed to be very short and easy, lipoma located just under the skin. I voiced concerns prior to the surgery that it could be larger and he was an EAR NOSE AND THROAT DOCTOR. He assured me he could handle it but wished it was a little higher in my neck. I had scans of the lipoma prior to surgery. However he learned during the surgery the lipoma went deep into my body when I laid down, requiring him to operate in a “modified beach chair position” (according to my surgical report). When I woke from surgery I was in extreme pain. The surgery lasted 6 hrs. I couldn’t understand why I had pain all the way down to my right shoulder blade and just above my right breast. Dr. Franklin told me lipoma was all the way into those areas. An ENT should have never operated into those areas. It was outside of his area of… expertise. He was rude to me when I told him how bad my pain was. He told me he operated on cancer patients with less pain. Thankfully I was quickly referred out of his office. However, my life was never the same again. I was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome. I have a spinal cord stimulator to help with the pain. I’ve had countless nerve ablations and spent so much money over the years. Before the surgery I worked full time as a social worker. I had a 1 1/2 year old daughter. Afterwards, I was in too much pain to work or have any more children. I actually saw an attorney but found I had one year to file malpractice suit. Attorney told me it was obvious he was operating outside his area of expertise. He wanted me to gather paperwork and etc. Regrettably I couldn’t get it all together in the required time frame bc I was still continuing to try to work, in intense pain, and had a very young child. I lost my livelihood, my career, my active lifestyle and suffered severe depression for years. At the time Dr. Franklin was a fairly new doctor. He was cocky and felt he could handle anything. At any point he could have chosen to stop dissecting. He could have called in another surgeon with expertise in the area. But he chose not to and literally changed the whole trajectory of my life. It has taken me 13.50 years to write this review because I was so angry. I no longer trust doctors blindly. I throughly research a new doctor before seeing them and it takes me a long time to trust anyone allowing them to touch me. I recommend everyone doing the same.

We love Dr. Franklin. There is never a wait and he has a good rapport with my two year old. The only critique I would make is that the office visits are very quick and feel a little rushed at times.

Saw Dr. Franklin for a strange issue, which still persists. I need to set up a follow up appointment with him. I saw Glenda Rast for a hearing test and she is so patient and knowledgeable. They are a great team and I would recommend both of them.

My son needed surgery on his very deviated septum. Three to four months after his surgery, his septum was right back where it started and I had to have his surgery redone by another doctor (which btw has been over a year ago and he has not had any problems with that surgery). When I called the office to have the last $250 waived because of the circumstances, they declined. Also, my botox experience with Dr Franklin was not good either. This was before my son's surgery or right after. I have had botox for a couple years elsewhere but decided to have Dr Franklin do it and absolutely nothing happened. I went back and complained and he readministered some of it but not all that I had paid for. He told me I may be immuned but I have had botox 2 times elsewhere with no problems.

After trying unsuccessfully for a week to get my newborn into a pediatric ENt in San Antonio...and after almost a two month wait to see my four year old, I cancelled my appts and heading 45 minutes to New Braunfels. Well worth it. Great, accommodating staff.

Dr. Franklin and his staff have always been very courteous and God bless them, PATIENT with my 3 year old son who hates having his ears checked. Dr. Franklin had performed several minor procedures on my son and everything has always gone well. I don't understand the negative ratings from other "patients", but they are completely false. I've never been approached for cosmetic procedures (even though I'm sure I could use them), and Dr. Franklin is a good ol' Texas boy who is very polite and friendly. Never witnessed any rudeness towards staff, and believe me if he was they wouldn't be there anymore. We will continue to see Dr. Franklin as long as my son needs his services.

Dr.Franklin thinks he is in a would famous hospital rather then our tiny hospital in New Braunfels. He is rude to the staff and could not even make eye contact with me. He has a lousy way about him. Maybe he should go back to Boston or wherever he is from to be with his big shot friends. It makes you wonder why he is here in the first place.
