Dr. Geraldine E Ekpo, MD, FACOG, MD

I went to Dr. Ekpo for two rounds of IVF. The first experience was good. Her staff and herself were very attentive. The second round Dr. Ekpo was distant, condescending when I asked questions about the embryo and procedure and left it to me to learn a lot on my own. She moved around my IVF hormonal schedule to fit her vacation time, even though I said I would be okay with another dr. doing the implantation. Honestly I was happy to work with someone else at this point, so she scheduled another dr for the transfer. On the day of my implant she was there. No fore warning just walked into the room. Payment: After our first cycle we received a $1000+ bill 10 months after the procedure. I called and there was no reasoning other than their billing person was out on maternity and now was catching up on billing. The billing third party, hired during her leave, apparently screwed up. Practice: The practice needs updating. I have done my 3rd cycle at another clinic and it was far and… away more professional then Laurel. At Laurel the rooms have a curtain hung, that could have been purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond, in the door way (in the transfer room and an active hallway). They are not private and you never know who will be in the room with you. People just come in and out while your legs are up in stirrups. I am only giving 2 stars because of our first experience.
