Dr. Gerry H Rubin, MD

I was referred to Dr. Rubin because my iron was low and my internist felt I should have two iron infusions. Dr. Rubin's NP did a blood test before the first iron infusion and two others before and after the second one. There were several anomalies in the blood test results which were shown in the portal but Dr. Rubin never saw or called me to discuss them. Apparently, I am supposed to be my own doctor and interpret the results myself. After the third and final test, I called her office and asked if she could call me to explain the results. I received a call back from a nurse who only addressed my potassium level and recommended a drug. I asked her about my ferritin level which had been very low and was now way above normal and the answer i received back was 'I don't know what ferritin is.' Hard to believe but true. The nurse then asked if I would like to have my blood monitored every month. No thank you, I'm not a doctor and need one who communicates with patients, not one who has an… obviously very inexperienced nurse do it for her.

I have had medical issues the last few years n have seen a lot of specialist, have never come across one as so obnoxious n rude, she has 0 bedside manners n NO compassion.

She was AWFUL in dealing with a personal friend that had lung cancer. She treated her like she was just a NUMBER - like she was going to die anyway so why should I bother. I personally went with my friend to Dr. Rubin several times.
