Dr. Gil Ascunce

Let me tell you a bit about my story. I have been very sick for five months and ended up three times at ER but still could not solve my problems. As I was always an extremely healthy person who have never been sick before I was devastated, stopped working and spent the last four months visiting doctors to find a solution to my health issues. After an extensive research based on my legal background, I came across to Dr. Ascunce profile and I deeply believed he could help me and I was right. My previous GI was horrible, a nightmare who not only rushed me for her to be able to see the next patients but also she did not inform me promptly about the endoscopy result. What is the whole point of an endoscopy if a doctor does not inform you about the results promptly (especially if you have something serious)? Clearly, she only cared about getting paid by the insurance. To get worse, when she informed me that I was infected with a stomach bacteria, she prescribed me the antibiotics… incorrectly which made me even more sick and I was extremely scared of all this situation. Be careful who you choose as your GI because it can change the course of your life as it happened to me. Had not been this nightmare I would have been able to be back to work and enjoy more my life. I am so glad I met Dr. Ascunce who not only had to correct the mistake my previous GI made but also started a completely different treatment for my recovery. I was skeptical I would ever get better but, today is my fourth day of treatment and have been feeling wonderful, with more energy and hope than ever even still taking these strong antibiotics. Dr. Ascunce is not only a very compassionate, extremely smart, modest and caring BUT is also a doctor who practices a conscientious medicine. A great deal of conscientious medicine is not just writing prescription drugs and performing surgical procedures. It involves understanding the individual patient in his or her totality as a person. I am really impressed with his treatment and I have a hope (which i lost in the last months...) that I will get better soon and will be back to the person I used to be :energetic, motivated and physically active. Dr Ascunce is a great human being who understands that being a doctor is more than a financial reward.....!!! Please, if you read my review, go to see him if you ever get any issue with your stomach, you will be glad you did.

I came to Dr. Ascunce with acid reflux, and he also performed an endoscopy on me. I found him very pleasant, and, most importantly, very good at explaining and open to my questions. I tend to always look for possible alternatives to pharmaceuticals, and value if a physician takes that seriously, as Dr. Ascunce did. This being said, I would fully trust his recommendations should pharma products prove necessary.

Dr. Gil Ascunce is and excellent Gastroenterologist, he is through in his examinations, he calls promptly with the results and follow up procedures.

He listened to everything I had to say without rushing me. He is very knowledgable and helped me with terrible heart burn and ulcers. I would recommend him to anyone
