Unprofessional and Misleading Billing Practices: I had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Kwak, which I paid for out of pocket. Prior to the procedure, both Dr. Kwak and the front office staff confirmed the total cost would be $1,000. However, after the procedure, I was billed an additional $800 for anesthesia and pathology lab fees—costs that were never disclosed to me beforehand. When I raised the issue, the front office staff was unresponsive and unsympathetic. After persistent attempts, I finally spoke with the office manager, Pat, who admitted the billing was mishandled and acknowledged their failure to inform me of the extra charges. She promised to consult Dr. Kwak and follow up with a resolution, but I never heard back. Despite leaving multiple voicemails and following up repeatedly, my calls were ignored. I was often told Pat was “unavailable” or “in a meeting.” This lack of accountability and transparency persisted for months, which is inexcusable behavior for a professional… medical practice. Unfortunately, I am now forced to pursue legal action to recover the additional charges. For anyone considering seeing Dr. Kwak, I strongly recommend obtaining all costs in writing before proceeding with any treatment. It’s disheartening that a medical practice would engage in such unprofessional and avoidant behavior.

Made an appointment for a first time colonoscopy. I was apprehensive. Dr Kwak was wonderful She explained the preparation and procedure clearly which helped alleviate my fears. The staff is kind and caring. The day of procedure went smoothly and quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Kwak.

Dr Kwak and her staff are wonderful. I felt very confident that I was in the best of care with Dr Kwak. She is professional, knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns. She made me feel very comfortable and that she has a genuine interest in my health. I received great treatment and direction from her. I highly recommend her.
