Dr. Giovanni Campanile, MD

I went to see Dr Campanile because he advertises that he uses an alternative approach. He sent me for blood work and scheduled a stress test, holter monitor, and echo. His staff gave me a piece of paper and told me to make an appt at a specific location and to wait while they obtained approval. At no time did they mention that I should call my insurance company and ensure that there would be no cost. So ultimately I had the tests done at his office thinking they are in house and covered by my insurance company. Well low and behold I got a bill for over $500. for a procedure I could have done at my primary dr for free. Luckily I figured out that they outsource their test to Atlantic Health System/ Morristown Medical Center so that they can make more money. I then scheduled my nuclear stress test on my own at no cost. If I had not noticed the issue it would have cost me $1500.!!!! I pay $8000. a year for health insurance and would never agree to do test outpatient but they never… explained. WHen I reached out to them they said there were signs:((( A friend of mine who does testing told me this has become popular because they have you sign a ton of forms in which one states you understand that it is outpatient. I feel so taken. I am on disability and do not have the resources to pay more money out of pocket. Shame on this organization. Just received a letter tellng me too bad I didnt understand but not their problem. PLEASE IF YOU GO THERE BEFORE YOU DO ANY TEST CHECK YOUR COVERAGE. IT IS A SHAMEFUL WAY TO MAKE MONEY OFF THE BACKS OF PEOPLE. THEY SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT TESTS YOU NEED AND THEN LET YOU FIND WHERE TO GO THAT IS COVERED UNDER YOUR INSURANCE. BE WARNED!

Dr Campanile is an excellent diagnostician whose focus is on cardiology and functional medicine. He spends a lot of time with you, is an excellent listener, and because of his speciality, he orders diagnostic tests when needed that other doctors do not. At the end of your visit, you feel very fortunate be a patient of such a competent medical professional.

I was extremely impressed with Dr. Campinile's knowledge and philosophy in diagnosing and willingness to treat my problem with both conventional and holistic approaches. Dr. Campinile has a very informed and balanced approach to his treatments; it isn't only about prescribing the latest drugs but also about incorporating other more natural modalities like life-style and diet changes, stress reduction techniques and nutritional supplements. Dr. Campinile is exactly the type of doctor I was looking for to help me manage my over-all medical issues.
