Dr. Gita Ram, MD

I am so impressed with the care that my child received from Dr. Ram. I was very nervous for my appointment but she was patient and took the time to speak with me about all of my concerns. She was patient and comforting with my daughter throughout the entire visit. This level of care she provided is the reason why CHOP carries its reputation. We had a wonderful experience. I have and would recommend her to family and friends!

i made a decision to schedule my daughter for a 2nd opinion out of state re: her allergies, banking on the fact that it is after all at CHOP. I was willing to have my daughter seen by Dr. Ram, eventhough I found out she's a fellow after the appointment was set, as it was also somewhat difficult to obtain an appointment sooner. I was disappointed overall. I felt that she was rushing through the whole consult: history taking and physical assessment. I made it a point to not inform her that I'm also a medical professional--not sure if that did any good for us. During the physical assessment part, she was not very thorough. I did not see her check my daughter's skin, not lifted her shirt to check on her back at least, considering one of our chief complaints was generalized eczema. I also noticed that she wasn't too "warm"/friendly towards children, again, perhaps she was rushing? I don't think I will be planning to return for a follow up appointment, as instructed. I hope though that she… was just having a rough day, although, I saw only a few, 3-4 children with parents in the waiting area, and the department didnt seem too busy on a Monday. Regretfully, I wouldn't recommend to my family and friends.
