Dr. Glen Garner, MD

Dr. Garner perform an unplanned surgery I needed a couple of days after I entered Memorial Hermann SE Hospital via their emergency room. He had a pleasant disposition, and answered my questions during our pre surgical meeting. I notice some have complained about a lack of communication, and also his staff. He doesn't seem to be a talkative kind of Dr., but rather the kind of Dr. that just gets the job done on behalf of his patient. Another complaint was about a lack of adequate pain management after surgery, but the reviewer contradicts his own review by saying the Dr. stated he really couldn't give any stronger medication. Maybe there was a reason like not being safe to do so, etc. I doubt the Dr. wanted his patient to be in excessive pain. So, to sum it up, you have to ask yourself would you rather have a 'mister personality' kind of surgeon or simply the 'best' surgeon when the situation arises. I can simply say that he did a great job for me, and I highly recommend him without… question!

Dr. Garner is a wonderful and caring physician who took time to listen to my problem, and help me to recover after my surgery. He is very easy to contact and when I needed a refill on my medication he and his staff were prompt in getting me the new prescription I needed. He is definitely a surgeon I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND to all my family and friends!

The day after surgery, it was very difficult for me to get in touch with Doctor Garner through his staff. I called concerning the pain medication he prescribed to me, but his staff kept screening the calls and giving their own advice on pain management. After demanding to speak to the doctor, I finally got a hold of him, but he was very stingy prescribing me an alternate pain medication. I was not having a good experience with the Vicotin his initially gave me, and he said he could not prescribe me anything stronger, and there wasn't anything else that would work well. He seemed very reluctant to help with pain management, and his staff took an excessive amount of time calling in the new prescription. I would not recommend Doctor Garner due to his inability of him, and his staff to listen to his patients needs.
