Time for Dr. Pearson to retire. I visited Mt. Crest to see a patient under his care. This patient was way over medicated. He along with several other male patients were observed doing the "Thorazine Shuffle." It was sad to see the workers sitting with their arms and legs crossed as if it were the worst place to work. This patient was transferred from Poudre Valley to Mt Crest for in resident treatment. He stated he woke up one day and felt really sick, like he was dying. He stated he complained all day until finally he began spitting up blood when the staff finally called an ambulance in the afternoon. He was then transported to Poudre Valley Hospital where it was determined he was in organ failure and had sepsis. He and we also said he was over-medicated and kept telling the staff he was having a bad reaction to the Zyprexa, which causes the "shuffle," two different size pupils, severe paranoia and violence out of somebody who had never been violent before. Other facilities we… had visited had 1 or 2 patients doing the "shuffle," but also had way more mental health patients in residence than Mt. Crest. The staff openly engaged and communicated with the patients. Highly recommend Cedar Springs in Colorado Springs.

Dr Pearson got me through an extremely difficult time as a schizophrenic and now x-alcoholic and x - addict. He saved my life on more than one occasion.
