Dr. Gloria Lilian Tsan, MD

My husband was hit by a car and seen at Novant Er by her. He had X-rays of his entire body and cat scans. While he was waiting to see her (in a bed in the hallway by the way) his xray report came back to his MyChart account. When we looked at them it said there was a small fracture in his right foot. His foot was extremely painful and swollen. When she came to see him she never mentioned the fracture. When we asked her about it she said it must have been an old fracture. We told her he had never had a fracture anywhere. She totally dismissed him and said she was trying to get him discharged but couldn’t if was going to keep asking questions! She discharged him with pain meds and instructions to see his primary. His foot kept getting worse, he couldn’t put weight on it and is was more swollen and painful by the day. Of course since she was the one who went to medical school and discharged him we just kept putting ice on it keeping it elevated and keeping him off his feet. After 10 days… of it not getting any better I took him to Carolina Ortho Urgent Care. They took another xray and saw the fracture. We told her he had never had a fracture before and she agreed that it was caused by the accident. She put him in a boot and got him a referral to a foot and ankle specialist. She actually listened to him and cared. Dr. Tsan did not even have the decency or respect to listen to patient who was obviously injured in a car accident and brought to the ER in an ambulance to even consider that he knew his body better than anyone and he knows he had never had a fracture before! He is now 10 days behind in healing and probably made it worse because of her lack of care and respect. Truly not a doctor I would ever recommend to anyone! Shame on her!

Novant hospitals have sub-contracted with mid-atlantic medical associates in their ER's. BE AWARE!!! This individual never spoke to me, the nurse never spoke to me, they simply read what is in your "SHARECARE" notes and guess. My doctors are in Tryon or other individual practices. Medicare approved everything but her, her coding was inaccurate because she did not bother to read what was available. NOW they are sending me a bill just for HER! So begins the trek on disputes, appeals, and lawsuits. Unfortunately she is from Brooklyn because if there ever was a case for ICE she is it. To add insult to injury she suggested admission to collect a bonus from Novant but you won't find that in her notes or my chart.
