I had been seeing Dr. Guthrie for years. I have had part of my thyroid removed and have more nodules on the the half I have left. They have to be monitored close for growth d/t possibly turning to cancer. I had called to schedule my Ultrasound that I needed every 6 mo. No answer. I guess I called for months and had no idea where my Dr. Was I was very worried and finally I called Central Baptist Hospital. They told me he was no longer seeing patients. A big red flag was the current reviews. The next red flag was the both times I went, there were no patients in the office at all when I was coming and going both times. Next red flag, I brought my blood results in writing and on my phone that were done the week before my visit and the doctor got upset since I didn’t have it done at his office and refused to look at the official results from the lab on my phone. Then re-ordered the same tests again (even though my insurance wouldn’t pay for it again for 3 more months). Then scolded me again on my second visit for the blood results again. I went in for 3 problems and he gave meds for two of the problems and didn’t want to discuss the third again at all. Then my pharmacy needed a PA(prior authorization) form and faxed his office twice in 7 days and never got a reply so I couldn’t get the meds he prescribed. I’m a very responsible 56 year old man and don’t like be scolded by anyone, especially an older doctor who is out of touch with… electronics and who is trying to order blood work just to justify the contracting lab tech staying in his office. I was very disappointed in my care at this office. He seemed knowledgeable, but has a terrible bedside manner to him.

I have been going to Dr Guthrie for years . I have nothing but good things to say about him. His staff is very helpful and courteous.

Spent about 2 minutes with my 75 year old mother who is diabetic and has thyroid disease. Stated he doesn't worry about A1-C numbers in people of her age as life expectancy isn't that long. However, he ordered another A1-c test for that day and appointment to come back. It had only been a couple of weeks since her family doctor had done the A1C he was looking at. and if the number does matter for "old People" They why do the test and schedule a revist? Looking for new doctor as this one is a 1.5 hour drive for nothing but a make you comfortable because your going to die soon.

I would not recommend this doctor. If you want to see why just make an appointment with him and see for yourself.

on follow up appointment, I had to wait in the hall. Office was not open at time of my appointment. Agree with others regarding office staff rudeness, lack of follow up on tests, lack of concern or empathy of doctor, and inconvenience of refusal to take any type of debit or credit card.

I had to meet with this doctor to treat my thyroid condition. He lacked empathy and was often condescending. He or his office staff never follows up on blood test results nor cares to inform me of his diagnosis. I was asked to call back and when i did, he could not even spare me an extra minute of his time. His office staff does not accept credit cards either.

Dr. Guthrie promised to call me on Friday with the results of my blood work. It's been 3 weeks now and I have not heard anything. I called last week, no one answered the phone. I left a message for Dr. Guthrie but I still have not gotten a response. Since I can not reach him by phone, I've written him a letter and have dropped it in the mail asking him to close my file. I am going in search of another doctor to treat my thyroid condition.

I would never go back! Extremely rude office staff, very unclean office! The doctor had no bedside manner and would not respond to any follow up calls regarding my lab results. Once I did reach him, he told me that it wasn't his job to interpret my results! Pathetic! I would never recommend anyone going to him! He should not be in practice!
