Dr. Gordon Lui, MD

Cataract surgery scheduled. I didn't know I needed but drugs to prevent swelling and infection were not ordered in advance to take for 3 days. They did surgery anyway. They Ordered very expensive non generic drugs from my pharmacy late Friday 24'hours after surgery. Phone number for weekend Dr. Not working. Monday morning I was told his office can't reach him on Monday as he is in surgery. No explanation from Dr. Lui. I know you can lose an eye or your life if eye gets infected. Jumps to brain. I was not offered a call on Monday from any other Dr. Avoid this place and this Dr. If you value your eyes.

When calling to make an appointment you get a long message about office hours who to call in case of an emergency. Then are given two options: dial the extension or push star. After pushing star you are asked to enter a box number. What do you do if you do not know the extension or box number? So I thought maybe I could make an appointment on line. No such luck. So how do you make an appointment?

I had to see Dr. Lui because my regular doc wasn't available and I had a pressing eye problem. I was struck my the fact that he entered, barely said hello, never addressed me by my name and didn't introduce himself. That was rude! He examined my in what was a thorough manner. However he really needs to improve his human relations. I hope never to see him again.

Dr. Lui is very kind and patient. The staff at the MEC were lovely as well. I highly recommend Dr. Lui!
