A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

My husband was assigned this man after a stroke at IMC. Had we known better, we would have avoided at all cost. The exam was a joke. Dr. Call watched my husband walk a few steps, then said to come back in a few weeks. When it came time for forms to be signed and referrals to be made, we were promised he would have them ready in 48 hours. After repeated calls to the office for over two weeks, we finally got help elsewhere. After 6 weeks, the office cheerfully called and informed us the paperwork was ready, and Dr. Call wanted to do a follow-up exam. Needless to say, we ignored.
Thank heavens for vitals.cobhm! My experience with Mr. Call is such, I took my daughter to him when he still had a practice and this man was extremely rude, was offended when asked questions, clearly was put out and didn't want to be bothered!! I followed up with him a second time giving him benefit of the doubt that he had been having a b bad day at my daughters expense on her first appointment. He was just as rude and arrogant as well as uncaring the second time, and that was enough for me. I am not a doctor, but he made absolutely no sense. Fast forward 15 years! Paramedics transported my daughter to IMC ER where she was comatose and admitted into the stroke unit. The doctor comes into her room and to my horror, it was Mr. Call who lost his own practice. He remembered us and immediately began making sarcastic, derogatory comments! I reported him and my daughter transferred to another hospital. To my knowledge he is still @ IMC and LDS.! Please take caution! STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES!!God only knows how he still holds the title doctor!
This doctor will take a personal revenge upon you if he (the God of neurology! In his own twisted mind! ) has not been the one to diagnosis you, but rather a truly qualified neurologist! In his reports he will then slander the names of your qualified treating neurologists and all your other doctors, try to discredit their diagnosis of you despite test results and medical records are right on file to view as proof. He never stops trying to slander and discredit you as the patient, however despite he thinks he is something, other doctors give him and his bow ties no credit or respect! His loss of his private practice speaks volumes! Now he is strictly an on call Neuro in hospitals affiliated with for Neuro cases. When admitted, the hospital director of nursing was called in to personally find my orders faxed in ASAP by my 4 star Neuro, as Gregory Call had purposely placed them under a stack of forms rarely used! Had the director of nursing not been involved, he would have succeeded in hiding them and denying my treatment ordered! When walking into my room he bluntly stated "I do not care about you or your life! You seem to have a laundry list of doctors to exhaust so I suggest you do that because I couldn't care less about you or your life! " LOL! Sorry Mr. Call, unworthy of the title doctor, but you have failed in more ways than one and more ways than you realize! I received top notch treatment upon leaving, while having my respected doctors get a good chuckle discrediting him, while saying "oh will he ever learn!? "My response was "apparently not, but the fact is proven that all people have SOME use, his is to make us appreciate our truly qualified and competent doctors, as well as to have around for pure amusement at whatever he thinks he is as well as those ridiculous bow ties! " Again leaving respected doctors laughing and responding with "True! Very true! " I am sorry, but this is NOT a DOCTOR! This is a complete IDIOT!! Nothing more!
