Dr. Gregory Carl Fanelli, MD

He didn't talk much. He replaced my knee years ago and after asking me if he was the one doing the surgery I felt he stopped listening. Of course that was my feelings and may not have been his.

My experience with Ortho was great, very well taken care of and everything was explained very well. X-rays we're done very fast and Dr Fanelli and staff were great.

Dr. Fanelli has always been straight forward with his advice as to the problem and procedure required to fix the problem. His team is also top notch. I could not have asked for a better group of professionals when it came to removing my knee pain. I now am able to walk and bend my knee without pain.

I wouldn’t take my dog to see him wasted my time was in the room less the 5min and didn’t tell me anything but give him a shot off to Evan to see a real doctor

Dr. Fanelli and his team arranged and executed the surgery to repair my nearly completely severed lower subscapularis tendon which was torn and retracted, along with some repairs to the supraspinatus tendon, from a very bad fall on the ice. Although the surgery had to be delayed because of the impact from the Covid19 pandemic, the team at the Geisinger eventually was able to perform the challenging repair work, for a successful operation. I still have some necessary exercises to facilitate the full recovery of strength and use of my right arm, but looking forward having the complete restoration of my shoulder and right arm again. I appreciated his direct, honest and sincere approach; which I was willing to drive over 3 hours to have this surgery performed.

In my visit with him because he stated I did need surgery in his opinion he dismissed the swelling in my knees and the pain. Didn't even mention the sprain that showed up in the MRI just said " I don't know and I don't have an opinion as to what's causing the sliding and popping in your knee or the pain and swelling in the other knee." Dismissed.

He did my PCL and meniscus graph surgery. He was extremely concerned and took his time explaining everything to me. He even drew on my leg with a marker where I would have to be cut, helped me to understand the reality of the surgery and how much I would be going through. It’s been 17 years and my graphed ligament is still going strong!! He was sympathetic to my anxiety and the fact I have very little tolerance to pain! Amazing man and surgeon!!!

Had him do my Knee Surgery back in 99. Have had very little problems with it, full dislocation of knee. My knee was in the 1% of knee injuries......Great with me and family. Would highly recommend.

I went in for minor shoulder pain which he quickly diagnosed and recommended surgery. I asked if there was an option before we get to surgery and he replied "all I can offer you is surgery" smiled, shook my hand and walked out the room. I hear that he is a competent surgeon and I don't care too much about bed side manor but he doesn't leave you feeling informed and confident about your options and what path to take.

Dr Fanelli is wonderful, he stayed with me for almost an hour explaining my surgery, he even went into x-ray with me! he is attentive and his staff is outstanding!
