Dr. Gregory Andrew Formanek, MD

A very kind doctor until there was a conflict of care. Dr. Was very irate and unprofessional. Would never recommend him. The staff and office personnel were great. Too bad the doctor wasn't.

Dr. Formanek is unique!, He is the kindest, most caring, , Doctor ....he doesn’t just care for the disease he care for the patient and there family ..threat with firm kindness . Calls patients back . He’s ALWAYS there for the patient and fimily .no questions go unanswered..looks for trials if treatment fails ..and in the end if that’s what it comes to ..he’s there to set there minds to rest that all that’s can be done ..With a very GENTLE HEART .. Believe me my husband was his patient for over 10 years ..Other Docs gave him 3 months to 1 year to live .. Treat , prayers , patients ..no waiting a week for test results had them ASAP sometimes before we made it home from the visit ....A Great Doctor that really cares ..Still so blessed we found you Dr. Formanek !Can Never Thank You Enough For The Care You Gave My Guy ! "

Oct 4..Nine years ago today I had a Mastectomy due to breast cancer. One week later I met with Dr. Formanek. Throughout chemo, radiation, and Herceptin .......he guided my care. 18 months of responsible care from Dr. Formanek brought me to realize hope for a future. His care took me from fear to courage to enbrace the new normal for my life. His medical care is superior. A call to the office was returned quickly. I never once felt alone during the journey of recovery. Chemo was not a picnic but the journey was guided by Dr. Formanek in a professional manner. He prepared me for each change in the drugs given. He recently left his practice with Va. Physicians. He aided me in my choice of a new physician to follow my care. I miss him and am learning to trust the doctor he suggested to replace him as my followup oncologist. Lucky the patients he is helping today.

Have been treated by Dr. Formanek since Dec 2011 for rare form of blood cancer. I owe Dr. Formanek for saving my life! Just got the bomb dropped that he is leaving/getting out of the practice all together. We recently moved to 400 miles away but continued going to see Dr. Formanek because of all the faith and good care he's given. Can't imagine why he would leave except that maybe the outfit he worked for might not have treated him the way he deserved to be treated. God Speed to you, Dr. Formanek! Words of thanks can only vaguely express our gratitude to your excellent abilities and caring.

I have been seeing Dr. Formanek for 10 years and just learned he is leaving Richmond and I am so distraught! I have no idea how to find another oncologist as caring, knowledgable and courteous as he is - I am so sorry we are losing him but wish you, Dr.Formanek, every good thing for the future - thank you for all you have done for me - xoxoxo

Dr. Foremanek is really knowledgable. In some cases he even acted as my GP to coordinate all aspects of my healthcare. He also listens to patients messages himself, rather than getting a nurse's report and their interpretation. He calls back the same day with decisive directions. I have been in his care for 7 years (CLL) and hope he stays around a long, long time!
