Dr. Gregory Dean Opritza, MD

I highly recommend that everyone avoid Dr. Opritza. I have been going to him for roughly 15 years. In that time, dealing with his personal nurse has been a nightmare as she has no interpersonal skills and regularly misinterprets messages and makes every conversation feel like a scolding. She is the person you will deal with for everything but actual office visits. As for Dr. Opritza himself, I never had any particular problems until somewhat recently. He prescribed medication for me knowing full well that it might have some negative effects and that I could not afford to go to a specialist to manage it. When the medication left me disabled and unable to work, I called his office and spoke with a covering physician (Dr. Opritza has a schedule that makes it very difficult to see him) who asked me to stay on the medication over the course of a long weekend. When I did not improve and I called in, I was told that he would no longer manage the medication and I was referred to a specialist… who could not even help me, forcing me to take myself off the medication with no guidance. When it came time to submit for disability for my time out of work, he outright lied about the series of events surrounding my absence, ensuring that I would not be compensated for his malpractice. I will not be dealing with Dr. Opritza ever again and I would take legal action if I could afford to.
