worst doctor I've ever met. go elsewhere.

I was a patient of Dr. Ahrendt's in 2013 at Magee women's hospital. After my surgery Double mastectomy) she cam in to see me a few days later. She said how did I feel doing this invasive of surgery for "a speck of a speck of cancer". I was mortified, and I said back to her "easy for you to say it wasn't you, and I still did the right thing". I think she was upset I refused to participate in her study. I would not recommend her due to her cold bedside manner. My plastic surgeon was wonderful, and he was very understanding.

I went to her because they found a suspicious area on my mammogram. She was arrogant, cold and rude. If a physician comes across as not liking people I can't understand why anyone would want to entrust them with their health. She has the attitude that she doesn't care about you. Why would I trust her with my life? There are many other qualified breast surgeons in Pittsburgh. Also remember the reviews on UPMC's website are not anonymous. You will hardly ever find a bad review on a physician because they know their names.

Not nice and compassionate. Come across cold and not easy to talk to.

She acted in a very rude and abrupt manner. She has a terrible personality and does not know how to show any kindness or compassion toward her patients. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Dr Ahrendt is a wonderful surgeon. I had Stage 1 Breast Cancer with a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. I had done a lot of research online before choosing her. Asthetically, I feel she did an excellent job with my surgical incision. I am very happy with the results. She was always extremely prompt with test results and her staff is pretty good. She is not the most outgoing or friendly of the doctor's I've seen. But she is the best at what she does and takes her job very seriously. I'd much rather go to someone at the top of their field. She responds very quickly to any issues you may have. She's very honest and upfront and will answer all of your questions. I highly recommend her if you need to undergo surgery and treatment for breast cancer.

never showed up after surgery to talk to myself or out-of-town daughter. after asking for her was told i'd see her at post-op appointment in 10 days. was told that there was one small (1cm) tumor...there were 3 tumors removed. one was 1cm, one was 3cm, and one less than 1cm that was highly aggressive. incision under arm was painful and needed to be drained. at post-op appointment the nurse did this causing more pain. very insensitive. when asked when i would see dr. ahrendt , i was told to come back in 1 year. the margins around tumors were removed adequately requiring more surgery which was done at The Cancer Treatment Center of America. They were great!

My teenage daughter has a lump in her breast. Dr. Arhendt was honest and reassuring. She spent time with us. The doctor who was with her for a fellowship, I believe, was just as wonderful. She was one of the most caring and professional doctors I have ever met; I am a former RN. We actually left the office smiling because we left feeling so well cared for.

She is honest, knows what she is doing and as a wicked sense of humor.I made it through chemo! My surgery was a vacation in comparisin.
