Dr. Harold Todd Coulter, MD

Dr. Coulter should not be doing exams for the Social Security Department. I suffer from Severe Neuropathy and need a cane to assist me with my balance, he told me to put it aside because the social security office wanted to see me walk without it. I told him I could not and needed it but did it anyway and could not complete the task. I was denied benefits because of his assessment. I contacted a social security lawyer in Gulfport, Mager Varnado and he got me my Social Security Disability and the Social Security administrator concluded that I was permanent disable and it was granted because I was sent to another evaluator who knew what he was doing. If you go to this guy, you will not be approved. He is garbage and did my wife the same way, she has her case with a lawyer as of to date.

He is a good person

He is a Kind, Considerate, Excellent physician with a flat office payment rate per visit. The comment the person made about charging for prescriptions is ridiculous! He is honest and will not help someone to obtain a disability income if they are not disabled, as those few persons making nasty comments did just because he did not fill out their disability paperwork to cheat the state or federal government! My family has been seeing this Dr. for many years with complete satisfaction!

I visited this doctor today for my social security disability claim and I was totally horrified by his behavior. He did not say hello, how are you doing, he just started ordering me around. He was verbally abusive, condescending, rude and unsympathetic. I asked him why he had an attitude and he asked me if I wanted to quit the exam right now and I said "No I don't want to quit the exam but I'd like to be treated with respect." He asked, "What makes you think you qualify for disability?" I explained that I had severe clinical depression, anxiety and panic disorders and I told him that he was causing me to have an anxiety attack right now. He said, "You're Done. I grabbed my purse and walked out the door without checking out. I have been to a lot of doctors in my life but I have never felt so disrespected, degraded and abused like I did by this doctor. I cried all the way home and I called my claim worker and said "I want to report this doctor immediately."

Dr Coulter has been Dr for about 3 years. You don't schedule an appointment. Everyone is considered a walk in patient. Everyone pays the same flat rate to see him ($60). That took some getting used to but it works. I'm not sure about the review saying he sells rxs for $60. In plain sight posted on the door when you enter the building it says he doesn't write narcotic rxs. This isn't a pill mill. Maybe that reviewer saw a regular patient come in to get their 3 month refills... which are not narcotics or controlled substances and made an unfair assumption about Dr Coulter. In 3 years he has never given me a controlled substance & is very open about that. He WILL refer you to a specialist if he feels you need those types of medications. In my case he referred me to a specialist that he said was the only Neurologist he would send his own wife to. That Neurologist has dramatically changed my quality of life! I do see these Disability/Social Security patients come in with their paperwork to… be filled out. They walk in (many times) walking fine, watching tv, chatting, smiling and seem to be well. They walk out stomping, angry & in a tizzy. Dr Coulter is a good judge of character. He sees this type patient a lot. I know just from the last 3 years I have been seeing him. I believe he knows enough to know when you are trying to cheat the system. That's just my opinion. People tend to get grumpy and angry when they don't get their way. In the past 3 years I feel like going to see Dr Coulter every 3 months for a check up & to get my refills (on medications that aren't controlled substances) is like going to see an old friend. He remembers my spouse, my children, what we discussed last time I was there, asks about progress with my Neurologist/condition, etc. He always asks how I have been feeling AND what have I been doing lately because he knows what condition I was in physically prior to seeing the specialist he recommended. I think he is a good Doctor. I think he knows people try to cheat the system and is makes sure that isn't happening on his watch. I find Dr Coulter to be knowledgeable on many things & consider him not only to be my Dr but also to be a family friend now. I believe he's a good guy, a good Dr & he always takes his time with me. His staff is polite, kind & remembers who you are! She is a sweet lady that I adore seeing for my checkups.

Very rude to SSI patients. ...sells prescriptions for 60 bucks...no I'd needed

Dr. Coulter is a NON Certified Internal Medicine Dr. . His non certification is a big deal. He was incredibly rude and egotistical. he didn't listen and he was essentially a hatchet man for Social Security. HIs office was not friendly as his staff member was equally rude. His job apparently is to shoot down anyone claiming to be eligible for disability. He did not offer one bit of advice to help my situation and left me quite insulted and angry

His service to the community as a health care doctor is unmatched in his profession
