Dr. Harry Siderys has the following 2 specialties
- Thoracic Surgery
If you need surgery to treat a complication in your chest, which includes your lungs, esophagus, diaphragm and heart, your doctor will refer you to a thoracic surgeon. They’re trained to offer surgical treatment for tumors and abnormalities in these areas as well as respiratory and heart conditions like lung cancer, heart disease and diseases in the diaphragm.
Thoracic surgeons are similar to heart surgeons, except they have additional training in the entire cardiorespiratory system and in how your blood vessels work with your lungs and airways. They’re also trained on catheters used in the chest, as well as cardiac and respiratory support systems that might be part of your treatment plan.
- General Surgery
A surgical specialist is a physician who has additional training in a specific area of surgery.<br>The American Board of Medical Specialties acknowledges the following surgical specialties: general surgery, thoracic and cardiac surgery, colon and rectal surgery, obstetrics and gynecological surgery, neurological surgery, ophthalmic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngological surgery, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, urological surgery, and vascular surgery.
Some procedures are performed by more than one type of specialist. Also, some surgeons may choose to specialize in specific procedures within their specialty area. For example, a plastic and maxillofacial surgeon may specialize in performing rhinoplasty procedures.

I want to thank Dr. Harry Siderys for saving my Mother's life in 1972. I'm not sure how early Dr. Siderys began doing heart valve transplants, but I'm pretty sure that Mother's was one of the early ones. Mother's heart had been damaged by rheumatic fever when she was a teenager, and through the years, her heart became weaker and weaker, until it got to the point that her doctors didn't give her much hope to live. But, then they heard of a new thing called artificial heart valve replacement surgery, and Mother decided to try that. The day before her surgery, Dr. Harry Siderys came into her room and explained what was going to happen during her surgery and then he asked her if she had any questions. She answered, "I have just one question. Do you believe in God?" Dr. Siderys said, "I couldn't do a thing without Him!." Mother said, "Then we'll do just fine!" And they did! My mother came through that surgery with flying colors and lived another 24 years. In the end, cancer was what defeated her, but those heart valves were still working strong! I want to thank Dr. Siderys for giving me those 24 additional years with my Mother. When she had her surgery, my daughter was 6 months old. During those 24 years, not only was my Mother able to watch her grandchildren grow up, but she was able to hold her great grand babies in her arms! What a precious gift Dr. Siderys gave to our family. I will always be grateful to him, and I do hope he somehow reads this review!
