Dr. Harry Clement Yuan, MD

Welcome to my Web page! I am thrilled to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I recently joined Kaiser Permanente after practicing at a university teaching hospital, and I feel very fortunate to work here because of my fantastic colleagues and patients. Whether my role is general pediatrician, pediatric pulmonologist, or pediatric sleep physician, I look forward to working with your children and your family.

Biography
I was born in the bustling city of Hong Kong, and my family and I immigrated to the United States when I was 8 years old. In school I was always fascinated with the workings of the human body. During my undergraduate years at UCLA teaching at a daycare facility, I was constantly delighted by the innocence, insight, and energy of children. Logically, pediatrics was perfect for me! And since children are most commonly afflicted with respiratory illnesses, it made sense for me to specialize in pediatric pulmonology.

About my …practice
Currently in my practice, I see patients as a general pediatrician, pediatric pulmonologist, and pediatric sleep physician. I strongly believe in helping parents understand their child's diagnosis and the reasoning behind the management. My philosophy is patient care first, and I feel that my pediatric colleagues as well as the entire nursing staff share in this view. In addition, the techniques in behavior modification and health promotion that I learned in graduate school provide me with even more tools to help patients maintain a healthy lifestyle.

How I thrive
I love to spend my free time with my family and friends. My wife and I have the best conversations on our walks together. Both our families live locally, so we see all of them often. We enjoy traveling internationally to experience other cultures. I am also an avid fan of scuba diving and just recently learned snowboarding. My wife and I are expecting twins, and we are very excited to start this new chapter in our lives!
