Dr Harsha Vittal, MD

I came to Dr. Vital after my GI retired. He was very thorough, listened, and I was immediately impressed. He and his staff were enjoyable to deal with. No hesitation in seeing him again.

I talked to the medical assistant a few weeks ago. She gave me a 4:00 appointment. I had explained to her I couldn't make it until 4:30 due to a previous appointment. She said that was fine. We get there at 4:33. The Dr. Was gone. I was informed that he left at 4:30 because he realized I wasn't coming by 4:15. I had told the assistant I wouldn't be there until 4:30. She said that was fine. The other assistant remembers taking my call, but conviently forgot me saying I would not be there until 4:30. Why didn't she give me a 4:30 appointment? She said they had 1 available, when we were in her office! I was rescheduled for 2 weeks out. Fast forward to 1 week before my appointment. I was called from their office. I didn't get the message until Friday night. It was too late to call. I called anyways and was told they aren't open until Monday morning. On Monday morning the office called and said they can't take me because I have a peg line in. I explained my peg line was removed in… November.I was just having pain where it was put in. The assistant said she would talk to the Dr. And see what he says. She called right back and told me I need to go to the Dr.who put it in. I explained I was in a coma for 46 days and I have no idea who put it in. The person who took it out was the Director of the rehabilitation place I was in. (I had a stroke). I was told to go talk to her. I explained she was a nurse. She couldn't even figure out how to remove it. She thought it was a different kind of a peg line and she had to pull it through the hole. It was kind of like giving birth. This huge peg line through this little hole. I was given no pain pills. My advice is to skip this Dr. So you don't have to have them cancel an appointment at the last minute like they did to me. Oh and I am moving to Ohio 5 days later. If the Dr. Would have seen me at my original appointment, he would have had time to run tests to see what was wrong.

My mother was taken to the emergency room in a near-death condition with ischemic colitis at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Couple of days later,I had asked a nurse to see Dr. Vittal regarding my mother's current condition and future care. He had refused to see me. I was very upset. Then the nurse had asked another doctor to talk to me instead of Dr.Vittal. The doctor did so. I was feeling better. As I was coming back from the hospital's cafeteria, Dr. Vittel had suddenly run towards me from the nurse's station and yelled at me at the top of his lungs. I was shocked by his crude manners.

Dr. Vittal was right on with the diagnosis and took all steps to be sure that the results of test were accurate. he took time to explain what to expect and what precautions to take with my diagnosis.

GREAT GASTROENTEROLOGIST, MY ENDOSCOPY WAS DONE QUICKLY AND WITHOUT PROBLEMS. MY FIRST VISIT DR. VITTAL TOOK THE TIME TO GO OVER MMY HISTORY AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS
