Dr. Harvey Hugh Wolf, MD

I was assigned Dr. Harvey H. Wolf through Medicaid. I know that 85% of the time you do not get the best Doctors or care and it should not be that way but Sandhills Urgent Care takes it to a new level. I knew before I even called that Dr. Wolf/Sandhills Urgent Care would not be a good place to get care because he was one of only three Doctors in the whole county who takes new Medicaid patents, which means he would have too many patients. I also could tell the care would not be good by how it looked on the outside. I searched for days to find another Doctor that took new Medicaid patients in Moore county and all I could find was two! One never picked up her phone and the other one did not seem like he would be much better than Dr. Wolf. I finally found a Doctor in Sanford, thirty minutes away but I had to wait about two months to be seen because I was a new patient. I had been feeling sick off and on for a year and I needed to see a good Doctor who would help me get better. I did not… have any insurance for years even though I worked hard, so I had to deal with some very incompetent, non-caring, nasty doctors that actual made my condition worse! I say all of that to say I did not need to deal with anymore terrible Doctors! So because I was feeling ill and had to wait to see the other Doctor I had no choose but to go to Sandhills Urgent Care and see Dr. Harvey Wolf. I called to make an appointment and the receptionist said they do not take appointments. I asked her when was the best time to come and she said they were always busy but it might be better to come on a Thursday or Friday and get there before they open at 8:30am, I was disgusted! So I went on a Thursday around 10am. The first thing that I noticed as I pulled up was how horrible the parking lot looked, then I saw a big dirty sign saying we speak Spanish, the building looked old and unkempt with cigarette butts all in the front entrance! As soon as I went in I saw so many people waiting in this small out of date waiting room and I knew I would not be seen for hours if at all. So I came back the next day at 7:50 am forty minutes before they open thinking I would be the first person there and I would not have to wait so long, I was wrong! There was five people ahead of me. I could not believe it! I waited about 1 ½ before I was called and told I had a co-pay. I did not have the full amount on me so I told the lady I would be right back in 15 min and I asked her would I lose my place and she said one person will go ahead of me. So I left and came back in less than 15 minutes paid and waited, more and more people were going ahead of me so I finally said something. Finally, I was called back I waited for about 50 minutes before I finally walked out. I was so upset! I got there at 7:50am and waited until 11:30 and was never seen! Medicaid needs to stop sending patients to this Doctor and get some more Doctors in Moore county that will take Medicaid. Dr. Wolf also needs to stop excepting new patients. Dr. Wolf is the only Doctor at Sandhills Urgent Care! He has his personal patients, excepts new patients and is handling urgent care patients! That is ridiculous and wrong on so many levels. Everybody deserves decent medical care whether they are poor or not. You are better of going to Fastmed Urgent Care or the ER! I ended up going to Fastmed myself! The Doctor there said she sees a lot of Dr. Wolfâ??s patients because he has too many patients and it takes forever to get seen by the Doctor, sometimes not at all. I would not recommend Dr. Wolf/Sandhills Urgent Care at all! You will die waiting to get seen!

Dr. Wolf has been our doctor for nearly 30 yrs. He has correctly diagnosed COPD, prostate cancer, diabetes and several less serious illnesses. He does NOT rush through his time with you. He is very thorough and takes time to answer ALL of your questions. We have been more than happy with the referrals he has done for us when needed. In David Endenfield, he has one of the best PAs I've ever encountered. He used to have the best office staff. Linda Stout, his assistant before retiring, was the best of the best. His personal secretary, I think, who was on his side of the reception area, was not a very pleasant person, but she was top notch at her job and that's what counts. Nearly all of his staff in the reception office and business office now are new, and none of the ones I've dealt with come even close to the old staff, both businesswise and personality. Luckily his medical staff and technicians are still top notch.

This doctor has a great bedside manner, his staff is horrendous though. I asked for a referal to an endocrinologist, was told I would be called within 2 days. They never called me and when I inquired the office manager was a royal b**ch to me. Very rude and hateful. Dr Wolf is great, I just wish he would totally clean out his office staff and replace with professional caring people.
