Dr. Heinz Hoenecke, MD

Doctor Hoenecke was very personable, concerned and professional. From before the surgery to after I felt I was in the best of hands, as the doctor team tailored to me and listened very well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hoenecke and his team to anyone thinking about surgery, no surgeon quite like this one I can guarantee it! He knows his stuff inside and out and can perform anything on the spot!

Dr. Hoenecke is a very capable, skilled surgeon. Don't expect very good bedside manner. He is good at what he does, surgery.

An X-ray confirmed I broke my femur bone. I was admitted into the hospital immediately. Dr. Hoenecke performed arthroscopic surgery. There was no pain, only a little stiffness. When the staples were removed, a few weeks later, I had two small scars and made a quick recovery.

I had frozen shoulder and the protocol dictated that I wait a year since these things usually unfreeze on their own. Mine didn't. Dr. Hoenecke performed MUA and virtually gave me my life back! I cannot express enough the gratitude I have for treating me, and how fortunate I feel to have him as my surgeon! His staff is incredibly efficient and helpful as well, especially the schedulers who on more than one occasion went to extra lengths to set up my appointments.

I saw Dr. Hoenecke for a scheduled knee problem. He spent 10 minutes and made a follow up appointment. I started having problems with the knee. His staff would not return my calls, he would not give feedback on 5 additional x-rays done during the month. I ended up in the hospital due to care. Now his staff says he is a shoulder not a knee doctor. Then why the office and follow up visit. The only time I got help was with the nurses from the other doctors on staff at Scripps trying to go around him. His behavior made my medical condition worse. Bad doctor and staff. Shame on Scripps for having him.

Not really willing to discuss or consider appropriate pain management. The push is for surgery and he uses discomfort and pain as a motivating factor.

Dr Hoenecke is the most uncaring physician I have ever encountered. He didn't pay any attention to my swollen shoulder until I pointed it out to him. Turns out I had sepsis and could have died from his negligence.

Dr Hoenecke has done my shoulder and my knees twice. Not due to anything he did. I just injure myself. He is great. I absolutely love him. Best ortho dr around!!!!
